Bookies Braced For Another Record Breaking NFL Season

Green Bay Packers and New England Patriots are William Hill's 13/2 joint favourites to win this year's Super Bowl in what is expected to be another record breaking betting season.

"Every year, we see huge increases in turnover on American football and this year will be no different," said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly. "10 years ago, the sport was very much in its infancy on these shores but we can see from the increase in bets placed and stakes laid year on year, that it is one of the fastest growing sports in the UK."

Not since the Detroit Lions went 0-16 in 2008, has a team gone the whole season without winning although William Hill are offering 40/1 that it happens this season. On the reverse side of the coin 25/1 is available for any side to win all of their regular season matches.

Drew Brees recently became the highest paid player in the NFL and the New Orleans QB is 11/4 to throw the most touchdowns in the NFL this season and 7/2 to lead the League in passing yards.

William Hill are also offering odds on who will make the Super Bowl this year and the 10/1 favourite is for the Packers to meet the Patriots, while for a repeat of last season's big match (between the Giants and the Patriots) is 33/1.
