Could English franchise appear by 2020?
Despite starting slowly, the NFL Wembley game was yet another success, with the San Francisco 49ers winning 24-16 against the Denver Broncos. Every year, the Wembley game prompts English NFL fans to debate whether there will be an English franchise playing in the NFL.
William Hill are offering odds of 50/1 that an NFL franchise moves to the UK by 31st December 2019 and the same price that the NFL move a post-season game to Wembley next year.
"The main issue with having a franchise in England would be the amount of travelling that the American teams would have to undertake, however, there are very few short journeys in the NFL and the distance between England and America, is not much different to the distance between Seattle and Chicago," said Hill's spokesman Joe Crilly.
Hills are offering 25/1 that the game's biggest showpiece, the Super Bowl, is held at Wembley before the 31st December 2019.
