Cowboys need to silence Big Ben
The Dallas Cowboys know that stopping Ben Roethlisberger is essential if they are to beat the Pittsburgh Steelers and continue their charge towards the play-offs, however it may be the Dallas offence that struggles to find its rhythm.
The Cowboys are finally displaying the type of form that was expected of them prior to the season starting after stuttering form and an injury to quarterback Tony Romo threatened to end their season early.
A 34-9 romp against the Seattle Seahawks last week, a third consecutive victory, pushed Dallas firmly back into the play-off picture but they face a real test of mettle against the impressive Steelers.
Pittsburgh are on a three game winning streak of their own and show no signs of slowing, especially with their top-ranked pass defence.
It all leads to an intriguing battle between Tony Romo, Terrell Owens and Co. against a Steelers defence boasted by the return from injury of cornerback Bryant McFadden, although Big Ben may just be the one making all the noise.
With home advantage you have to fancy Pittsburgh at 4/7, but the 31/20 about Dallas does look enticing given the wealth of talent they possess, which includes the return of the controversial but awesome Adam 'Pacman' Jones.
Away from the match betting the best value could be found on the 91/100 about less than 38.5 total points in the game as both defences will no doubt assure points are at a premium.
Sunday's televised NFL
In the other televised Sunday games there are a number of fascinating match-ups, with the surprise Atlanta Falcons worth keeping a close eye on.
Atlanta @ New Orleans
Former Boston College QB Matt Ryan has been one of the finds of the season and if he maintains his rhythm then the Falcons can edge ever closer to the play-offs.
Atlanta are still under-rated and look great value at 29/20 to come out on top of the inconsistent New Orleans Saints (61/100).
Cleveland @ Tennessee
The Titans should stroll past the Browns and the price of 3/25 reflects this.
Better value could be the 91/100 about the Titans overcoming Cleveland with a 14 point handicap.
Miami @ Buffalo
This AFC East match is sure to be close but the Dolphins, with their Wildcat formation and Chad Pennington, look to be in better form than the Bills.
Buffalo are slight favourites at 43/50 while Miami look good value at 19/20.
Washington @ Baltimore
Alongside Matt Ryan, Ravens QB Joe Flacco has been the other star rookie in the NFL this season, leading Baltimore to the brink of the play-offs.
The Ravens are priced at 5/13 to win again but they know stopping Redskins (11/5) RB Clinton Portis is the key to success.
