New England And New York To Provide Game Of The Weekend?

New England Patriots and Atlanta Falcons are the current favourites to contest Super Bowl XLV according to bookies William Hill.

The Patriots, who are 4/5 to triumph in the AFC Championship game, are 1/4 to beat the New York Jets on Sunday evening and the Falcons (6/4 for the NFC Title) are 20/29 to beat Green Bay in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Hills are offering 7/2 that the Super Bowl is contested between the pair. New England are red-hot favourites in the AFC, however, the NFC is a lot closer with Green Bay the 2/1 second favourites, just ahead of 9/4 Chicago.

The Seahawks came into the Playoffs on the back of a 7-9 record and odds of 14/1 seem to imply that the NFC title is a bridge too far and they are 40/1 outsiders to win the Super Bowl.

"The NFC is beginning to really heat up, with three of four teams seemingly in with a chance of reaching the Super Bowl. Atlanta, with Coach Of The Year, Mike Smith, at the helm are just shading it going into the Divisional Playoffs this weekend," said Hill's spokesman Joe Crilly

Hills are offering 7/4 that the matchup between the Jets and the Patriots is the highest scoring game of the weekend, while the New England Patriots are the 11/4 favourites to be the highest scoring team. "The Pats and Jets have already provided two memorable matches this season with one win each and the odds suggest that this will be the game of the weekend."

New England's Tom Brady is the 11/4 favourite to be the top passing quarterback this weekend, with Green Bay's Aaron Rodgers the 7/2 second favourite.
