Khan and Fury have their eyes on the big prize
Amir Khan's victory against Zab Judah resulted in a victory for William Hill, despite the fact that at closing time on Saturday, a punter placed £26,000 on a Khan victory in central London.
He will now surely have Floyd Mayweather firmly in his sights and Hills are offering 5/2 that they come face to face in 2012 and make Mayweather the 2/9 favourite for any fight that does take place, Khan is 3/1.
"Khan appears to be improving considerably with each fight he has and the 3/1 that we are offering about him to defeat Mayweather will surely not last for much longer following the manner in which he defeated Judah, his toughest opponent to date," said Hill's spokesman Joe Crilly.
Despite being the outsider, Tyson Fury's points victory over Derek Chisora resulted in a five figure loss for William Hill after a raft of bets were staked on the Mancunian youngster in the build up to the fight. "We cut the odds slightly from 13/10 to 6/5 under the weight of the gamble on him," said Hill's spokesman Joe Crilly.
Hills are now offering odds on Fury to win a World Title by the end of 2012 and offer 11/4 that he does and 1/4 that he doesn't.
"The unfortunate thing for Fury, is if he wants to go for a World Title, he must go for one of the Klitschkos, something that would not be advisable at such an early stage in his career," said Hill's spokesman Joe Crilly. Hills go 3/1 about him fighting one of the Klitschko brothers in his next fight.
