Punters Khan’t See Amir Beating Zab
Amir Khan is 1/6 with William Hill to win his fight against Zab Judah in the early hours of Sunday morning, but despite being the overwhelming favourite, boxing punters are finding it hard to back the WBA light-welterweight champion.
More than 60% of all bets staked on the match have been for Judah although Hill's biggest bet on the fight has been a £1700 wager for Khan.
"As it stands we are in the bizarre position of being able to cheer Amir Khan, as a Judah win is our worst result by far," said Hill's spokesman Joe Crilly.
The Tyson Fury vs Derek Chisora fight is proving more popular with Hill's punters backing the 13/10 outsider, Fury. Chisora is priced at 8/13 to win the fight and potentially set up a World title bout with Wladimir Klitschko. Hills offer 11/2 that the winner of the British and Commonwealth Heavyweight bout goes on to defeat Klitschko, who is offered at 1/10 to win the bout.
"There has been a bit of a gamble on Tyson Fury from the Coventry area and we fully expect turnover to go through the roof tomorrow as it is a rare opportunity to see high class boxing on terrestrial telly," said Hill's spokesman Joe Crilly.
