England favourites to be ranked number one

The weather forecast suggests that we could miss a fair amount of play during the first test at Lords and the draw has been backed in to 10/11 with William Hill. England are 2/1 to win the first test but 5/4 to win the series and 3/1 to finish the series ranked as the World number one Test side. Strauss looked in great nick over the weekend and he is 5/6 to score 255 or more runs in the series, whilst Pietersen is 5/6 to score 244 or less.

"India did not look the part over the weekend and if the weather holds, England have a great chance of getting the series off to a flyer," said Hill's spokesman Rupert Adams.
