Punters can see an Indian comeback

England are the 6/5 favourites to defeat India in the third Test which starts on Wednesday but despite this, William Hill punters are staying away from the home side, instead lumping on India at 7/2.

One London punter has staked £2,000 on MS Dhoni's men and that is only the crest of the iceberg with an Indian victory costing Hills a five figure sum.

India, however, will have to compete without Zaheer Khan who left the squad due to injury. The draw is priced at 11/8.

England are 1/66 to win the series and 1/7 to be named world number one side.

"It is quite bizarre how, despite England's dominance over the course of this series, the punters are steering clear of them," said Hill's spokesman Joe Crilly. "Despite this, the odds still point to an England victory."

Ravi Bopara has been brought into the England squad to replace the injured Jonathan Trott and William Hill make him an 8/1 shot to be England's top scorer. He is 25/1 to win Man of the Match and given that he is prone to taking the ball for a few overs, Hills make him 16/1 to be top bowler.
