The Ashes: Broad to walk at The Gabba?
The ASHES: Broad to walk at The Gabba? - Australia Favourites For First Test!
William Hill have released a number of Stuart Broad specials for the Ashes series and it is 16/1 that the England ace walks in either innings of the first Test.
Broad showed he is ready to fire on all cylinders with a decent performance against the New South Wales Invitational XI in the latest warm-up match.
The first Test is due to start next Thursday, November 21 in Brisbane where Broad is sure to face a hot reception from the Aussie supporters.
They won't be in a hurry to forget the Nottinghamshire star's infamous refusal to walk at Trent Bridge in the home series against the Australians during the summer.
"All eyes will be on Broad when he walks out to bat at The Gabba and he is bound to be in for plenty of stick," said William Hill spokesman Rupert Adams."How he handles all that side of things could be key to England's chances. But the big question is will he walk if he nicks one - or stand his ground again?
Broad is 3/1 to be England's top wicket taker over the series and is 14/1 to emulate his father Chris and be named man of the series. Chris Broad's runs were vital in England's Ashes success 'down under' in 1986/7.
With injury doubts surrounding a few in the England camp, Australia now find themselves narrow favourites to win the first Test at 6/4, with England offered at 13/8.
England remain favourites to win the Ashes and they are Evens to do so, with Australia 6/4 to cause an upset.
