Uphill Task For Captain Cook To Get Back Number One Status
Alastair Cook could struggle to win back world number one Test status, with William Hill offering 7/4 that he manages it as Captain.
Alastair Cook is 4/1 to become the longest serving England Captain & 5/1 to win the most tests as Captain. Hills think the change of Captain has not improved Kevin Pietersen's chances of getting an England recall and he is 8/11 not to play Test Cricket again and 11/8 to start the first Ashes Test. As for Andrew Strauss's future, Hills offer 5/2 that he becomes a permanent member of the Sky Sports Cricket Team and he is 25/1 to become the Chief Cricket correspondent for The Sun before the end of 2013!
"Alastair Cook should make a good Captain but England have a very hard set of fixtures ahead and without Strauss & KP it is going to be very hard to regain number one status," said Hill's spokesman Rupert Adams.
