Cavendish odds lengthened as Boonen is back

William Hill have lengthened Briton, Mark Cavendish from 8/11 to 5/6 to win the Green Jersey in the Tour de France after Tom Boonen was allowed back into the race and became 7/2 third favourite.

"Boonen won an appeal against exclusion and could now be a significant rival to Cavendish's aspiration to win the Green Jersey," said Hill's spokesman Graham Sharpe.

Mark Cavendish will win five or more stages of this year's Tour de France, believe bookmakers William Hill who have made that possibility 3/1 favourite in their market for how many stages the ace sprinter, who has been installed as 8/11 favourite to win the Points classification, will gather.

Hills offer 5/1 that he wins NO stages at all; 4/1 just one; 7/2 any two; 4/1 three stages; 9/2 four.

"Cav was not best pleased to come home empty-handed from the Olympics when the British cycling team did so well, so he will be desperate to improve on his sensational Tour de France achievements of last year," said Hill's spokesman Graham Sharpe.

Cavendish is a 125/1 outsider to win the Tour with Hills and also a 125/1 shot to win Stage One.
