Froome Lead Cut But Still Red Hot Favourite For Yellow
Chris Froome's odds of winning this year's Tour de France took a slight blow as he came in 1 minute and 8 seconds behind his closest rivals and William Hill have reacted by easing his price of winning the competition from 1/10 to 1/4, while Alberto Contador has been slashed from 8/1 to 4/1.
"Chris Froome has been imperious so far but with eight stages to go, we saw perhaps the first chink in the Team Sky armour, but the odds suggest that his cushion is comfortable enough at the moment," said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly. "To be honest, we wouldn't mind seeing Froome losing a bit more time because as things stand he is our biggest loser."
Mark Cavendish beat his rival Peter Sagan although he still has a long way to overhaul the massive lead that the Slovakian has in the Points Classification. William Hill make Cav 16/1 to win the Green Jersey, while Sagan is 1/100.
