Sagan opens lead on Cavendish already!
Peter Sagan won the first stage of the Tour de France and William Hill now make him 1/2 to win the Green Jersey this year (from 17/20). Mark Cavendish finished some way behind his rival and he is 9/2 to retain the sprinter's jersey.
Bradley Wiggins is 11/10 to win the Yellow Jersey and William Hill make him 3/10 to have claimed the jersey for the first time before the time the riders start the first real mountain stage at stage 8.
"It would seem that the two British hopefuls in this year's Tour, Cavendish and Wiggins have different priorities and it appears that while Wiggins has his eyes firmly on the Yellow Jersey, even at this early stage, Cav looks as though he is willing to let Sagan go for Green," said Hill's spokesman Joe Crilly.
