Fordham fighting fit and ready for the battle ahead

Former BDO world darts champion Andy Fordham has lost half his weight, but none of his desire.

The 2004 Lakeside winner, who admits to "not remembering a thing" about his triumph, is making his comeback at this weekend's Winmau World Masters, being held in Bridlington's The Spa.

His ultimate goal is to recapture his world title - speaking about the pinnacle of his career, the man from Kent said: "It would be nice to win it and remember it because I don't remember a thing of the final."

"I watched it the other day for the first time.

"I don't remember going out there, I don't remember getting the trophy, nothing.

"It's sad really when you think what a day it was."

He's one of over 230 players from almost 30 countries competing for a slice of the men's £50,000 prize pool, with a whopping £25,000 going to the winner.

Those players are headed by eight seeds, who enter the competition in the last 16:

Winmau World Masters - seeded players

Seed Name Country
1 Gary Anderson Scotland
2 Mark Webster Wales
3 Martin Adams England
4 Scott Waites England
5 Darryl Fitton England
6 Gary Robson England
7 Ted Hankey England
