John Gwynne's Premier League Darts preview
Sky Sports’ John Gwynne chats to William Hill's very own Dave Kelner ahead of week 14 of the Premier League Darts from the Cardiff International Arena.
It’s week 14, the final week of the regular Premier League Darts season and we cruise into Cardiff.
We know who the final four are going to be but not in what order they're going to finish.
Sky Sports commentator John Gwynne previews the action on the oche.
Week 14 is bound to be entertaining with a couple of challenge matches and two Premier League encounters.
This first of two challenge matches will give the Welsh fans something to cheer and Sky Sport's man, John Gwynne believes that's all Mark Webster will need to get the job done.
Both Klaasen & Webster are former BDO Champions, both very talented and John's looking forward to the game.
Webster's "big big Welsh crowd" will make the difference and John fancies for 7-6 Webster at odds of 11/2.
"I'm going to take Webster to win this one, it'll be close but i'm taking Webster 7-6"
"Should be a good game" says Sky's man in the know.
The second challenge match of the evening sees John Part taking on Gary Anderson
John Part is the outsider at 7/4, with Anderson at 2/5 in the betting.
"Great player Anderson" remarks John.
This is Part's last week as he's not qualified for the final, he'll head back to Canada before returning to the UK Open Championships in June.
The Sky man believes John Part may take his foot off the pedal after Jenkins easily beat him last week.
"I'm taking Anderson, not to murder John Part, but to beat him 7-5"
If, like John you fancy the 7-5 Anderson win, 11/2's the price.
Moving on to the good quality stuff here.
Barney needs to win - back Raymond Van Barneveld as the 2/5 favourite in the betting.
The Draw's 9/2 with Jenkins, who is unable to qualify at a large 19/5.
It's in Barney's interests to win the game and finish as high in the group as possible.
These two always provide us with a close match.
"Jenkins is a class act & he's had rather a disappointing Premier League"
John can't separate the two and is going with the draw 7-7 @ odds of 9-2.
Phil Taylor entertains Mervyn King in a needle match and John expects ‘The Power’ to come out on top.
"King will know exactly what he has to do to either avoid or get Taylor" says John
If he beats Phil 'The Power' Taylor - King will meet Taylor again in the semi's at Wembley.
King loses and plays Wade in semi's, so it could be in his (King's) interests to lose the match.
King is 5/1 to beat The Power.
The draw is priced at 11/2, with Taylor the clear favourite at 2/7 in the betting.
“There isn’t a lot of love lost between them, but I am going to take Taylor to win and I think it will be 8-4.”
An 8 - 4 Phil Taylor victory can be backed at a fantastic 4/1!
So to recap, this week John's Lucky 15 Correct Score bet is;
Mark Webster to beat Jelle Klaasen 7 - 6 at 11/2
Gary Anderson to beat John Part 7 - 5 at 11/2
Barney & Jenkins to tie 7 a piece at 9/2
Taylor to beat King 8-4 priced at 4/1
