The ‘Power' Out - MVG now 6/5 favourite for William Hill Grand Slam of Darts
William Hill, sponsors of the Grand Slam of Darts, have slashed Michael Van Gerwen's odds to win the tournament from 11/2 to 6/5 - following his sensational 10-5 win over Phil Taylor on Thursday night. The talented Dutchman will now play Scott Waites, the 2010 Grand Slam of Darts Champion, on Saturday.
Dean Winstanley will meet Kevin Painter in the other confirmed quarter-final. Winstanley beat Colin Monk 10-5, while Painter was a comfortable winner over an out of sorts Mervyn King.
‘The match between Taylor and Van Gerwen was one of the greatest ever witnessed at the Civic Hall in Wolverhampton,' said William Hill spokesman Tony Kenny, ‘MVG was out of this world - and unsurprisingly he's now the red hot favourite for the title.'
