Taylor rescues a point and remains favourite
Phil Taylor managed to rescue a draw despite being 5-1 down at the interval in the final match of the opening night of the Premier League darts.
At that moment, he was 14/1 to win the match with William Hill and 7/1 to share the spoils with Adrian Lewis.
Taylor is the 13/8 favourite to win the Premier League with Hills and Lewis is 7/2 second favourite. After his opening night defeat, Gary Anderson is 6/1 third favourite.
"The final match between Lewis and Taylor is already being billed as one of the classic Premier League matches and the pair remain the two favourites to win the tournament," said Hill's spokesman Joe Crilly.
The two new boys shocked the capacity crowd at the Manchester Evening News Arena, beating James Wade and Gary Anderson to land a fantastic 14/1 double. Andy Hamilton was 13/5 to defeat Wade in the season opener, while Kevin Painter was 3/1 to defeat last year's winner.
"Neither Hamilton or Painter were particularly well backed but those who had faith in the two new boys will be undoubtedly happy at what can be considered as relatively big scalps and both sit in the top half of the table after one day's play," said Hill's spokesman Joe Crilly. "There is still a very long way to go however."
