Appleton Out, Shebby Singh the answer?
After Blackburn sacked Michael Appleton after just two months in charge, William Hill have once again opened betting on who will be named as the next permanent manager. Gary Bowyer heads the market at 6/1 followed by Tim Sherwood at 8/1, despite the fact that he snubbed his former club last time around.
After Gary Bowyer was announced as temporary manager at Blackburn Rovers, William Hill have made him the 6/1 favourite to be in charge on the first day of next season. Tim Sherwood is 8/1 with Shebby Singh 20/1.
"With Bowyer in charge for nine games between now and the end of the season, he represents a bit of stability (where Blackburn are concerned) but given Rovers' propensity for showing their managers the door another change is a distinct possibility in the summer - with maybe even Shebby Singh in the running to take the helm," said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly. "Nothing is out of the question where Rovers are concerned these days."
Quite chillingly for Rovers fans, Shebby Singh is in the market at 20/1.
"Mr Singh seems to have no patience for any of the managers that Blackburn have had under the Venky's regime and he may just decide to take the reins himself," said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly. "Nothing seems too barmy for those at the top of the chain at Blackburn."
Next permanent Blackburn manager: 6/1 Gary Bowyer; 8/1 Tim Sherwood; 12/1 Paolo Di Canio; 12/1 Steve McLaren;16/1 Roberto Di Matteo; 16/1 Owen Coyle; 16/1 Alex McLeish; 16/1 Phil Brown; 20/1 Nigel Adkins; 20/1 Gus Poyet; 20/1 Mark Hughes; 20/1 Alan Curbishley; 20/1 Ole Gunnar Solksjaer; 20/1 Roy Keane; 20/1 Steve Kean; 20/1 Gary Megson; 20/1 Nick Barmby; 20/1 Gary McAllister; 20/1 Terry Butcher; 20/1 Colin Hendry; 20/1 Shebby Singh; 20/1 Uwe Rosler; 20/1 Brian McDermott; 25/1 BAR
