Bank on Beckford to blast Boundary Park boys
Leeds United's Jermaine Beckford certainly loves playing in front of the cameras; he's blasted in eight goals in three televised starts this season.
After missing the last three games, United's number nine returned to devastating effect with a brace to defeat Scunthorpe at Elland Road and move above The Iron into the play-offs. The only problem is though; the Whites are terrible on their travels, three consecutive defeats without scoring on the road means that Oldham Athletic go into the Monday night clash as favourites.
The Latics have only suffered defeat twice at home this season, but lost their most recent Boundary Park outing against Bristol Rovers. Compare this with Simon Grayson's team who have lost an incredible nine away matches already this league campaign, the worst out of any team in the top half of the table, and you can see why John Sherdian's outfit are sitting above Leeds in fourth spot.
The Blues (who will actually be playing in a bright pink kit in aid of Link 4 Pink, a breast cancer charity) are a 7/5 shot to win this Roses clash and move level on points with third place Peterborough. The draw, which Leeds have only achieved once in 16 away games this season, is 9/4. But if you think that the Yorkshire side can end their run of away losses and cross the Pennines with three points then a price of 6/4 could prove profitable.
Chris Taylor, who scored an injury time winner at Millwall on Saturday, bagged both goals in Oldham's 2-0 success at Elland Road at the start of the season and is a great price at 12/1 to notch the opening goal and 5/1 to get one at anytime of the match. Steve Kabba will be making his home debut for the Lancastrians, after arriving on loan from Watford, and is available at 6/1 to make it a night to remember with the first strike.
For Leeds it's difficult to look past Jermaine Beckford for goals, the hit-man has rattled in 25 in just 26 starts, he's 5/1 to grab the first of the game and 5/4 to pounce at anytime during the match. Elsewhere England Under 21 star Fabian Delph has scored his fair share of goals this season, including the last goal of Leeds' most recent away triumph at Brighton, 10/1 might be great value for him to open the scoring and he is 7/2 to get one at any point in the game.
