Bank on Chelsea for a Champions League profit

One would expect Chelsea to complete an emphatic victory on Tuesday evening as Cyprus' APOEL Nicosia visit the Premier League leaders at Stamford Bridge for this Uefa Champions League Group D clash.

Although Nicolas Anelka's first half strike was enough for a 0-1 Blues victory in the first leg at the GSP Stadium, it was generally considered an unconvincing win as Chelsea took their foot off the gas in a complacent second half performance.

APOEL Nicosia's Costas Charalambides looked on in vain as his late header went agonisingly close to putting the Cypriot side in with a chance of scraping a 90 minute draw, but it was not to be and Chelsea went on to sweep up the three available points.

Costas Charalambides is one of many players who can be backed to have better luck this time though, with first scorer betting (14/1), anytime scorer (11/2) and 2 or more goals betting (33/1) available, just three of over 180 betting markets on this Uefa Champions League clash.

This time around APOEL Nicosia (7/1 for a 90 minute win) may fancy their chances in the return leg at The Bridge following Chelsea's second half complacency, and if they could notch up a victory, they can then at least aim for a Europa League place.

But Chelsea... on home turf...? Regardless of already having their Champions League progression secured, consider The Pensioners a force to be reckoned with.

Consider Carlo Ancelotti's league leaders a 2/7 banker on Tuesday evening and good value at that, almost to the point where our ‘match handicaps' betting may be worth taking into consideration.

Chelsea -1 goal' is one of over 15 handicap markets available on this clash, but if you're looking for something a little different we're offering a ‘come from behind and win' market.

What's this...? well basically, if The Blues were to do the unthinkable and go a goal down to APOEL, the Premier League team should then come back and win.

At a whopping 15/2, you could be re-stocking your betting balance and this could well be worth a sniff if the Chelsea defense slip up.

Either way, simply sit back and watch as the likes of Didier Drogba, Nicolas Anelka and Salomon Kalou (team selection pending) to hammer home the goods with gusto before refreshing your balance and reinvesting your returns with Hills in-play!

If Anelka can deliver the goods this time, first scorer backers can celebrate their 10/3 winning bet by getting involved in William Hill's in-play betting service where the latest odds are compiled throughout the live match.

More likely to score than France's Anelka however, is the Ivory Coast born hit-man Didier Drogba.

Drogba has netted more goals for Chelsea than any other foreign player which is quite a feat considering the array of international sensations Chelsea have gone through in recent years, and this is quite simply a statistic which cannot be ignored.

Drogba may be short at 8/11 in the anytime goal scorer betting, but there is clearly a reason he is so short, so ‘to score 2 or more goals' which is priced up at 5/1 looks an absolute steal, with the striker sure to be eager to bring something to the party following the 2-1 Premier League defeat by Manchester City at the weekend.

This Uefa Champions' League Group D clash will have our full service available with over 180 markets available to bet on, and that's before we even look at the huge array of markets availabe with William Hill's in-play service as the whistle blows and play begins.
