Barca and Real in Saturday night action
Two thrilling games from La Liga take place on Saturday evening so why not sit back and enjoy but before you do read our preview of the two big games which may help you make your mind up as to where your money should go.
Real Madrid vs Almeria - 18:55 live on Sky Sports 3
Real (2/11) played better than expected against Barcelona and this week get a chance to show how much they've improved as a team when they host thirteenth placed Almeria (11/1).
They have won every game they've played against Almeria at the Bernabeu and have scored on average 3.5 goals per game. Based on that statistic, over 2.5 goals looks like a good bet and is priced at 2/5.
Other statistics reveal that Real have won every home La Liga game this season and kept four clean sheets in the process. Should you fancy them to make it five, 4/6 is available. However, Almeria have scored at least one goal in their last four La Liga games and did manage a solitary strike at the Bernabeu in their 3-0 defeat in 2007/08. Both teams to score is priced at 19/20, as is just Real to score in the teams to score market.
Although I have no doubt that they will progress, Madrid are not certain of a winning their group in the Champions league and could therefore have an eye on their midweek trip to Marseille. You would expect AC Milan to avenge their defeat against FC Zurich, so in order to guarantee top spot, Real must win.
Bearing this in mind, anyone looking for a long shot against Almeria might be tempted by Draw/Madrid in the double result market, priced at 10/3. Almeria with a three goal start is also worth a look at 4/9.
Finally, Ronaldo is back and the soon to be former World Player of the Year is priced at 3/1 to score the first goal or 8/11 to score at anytime. No doubt he will be hungry for goals after his absence, so both markets are worth serious consideration.
Deportivo vs Barcelona - 21:00 live on Sky Sports 3
Deportivo La Coruna (17/5) have won their last three games in La Liga and lie 5th in the table, only three points off Real Madrid and 2nd place. Miguel Angel Lotina's side have managed only one win in their last eleven league meetings with Barcelona (6/10), with seven wins going to the Blaugrana and three draws, including one in their last meeting.
However, in La Coruna the hosts are unbeaten in their last four encounters against Barca with three draws and one win. Factor in the difficult, fixture congested last two weeks that Bacra have had to endure (Athletic, Inter Milan, Real Madrid and Xerez), along with a tough trip to Kiev next Wednesday and a draw becomes very appealing in this match. The draw is 13/5 and correct score bets of 0-0, 1-1 and 2-2 are available at 11/1, 11/2 and 14/1 respectively.
There are also some big prices to be found in the double result market with Deportivo/Draw and Barcelona/Draw both 16/1. Draw/Draw is priced at 11/2.
I'm looking forward to this game, so whatever you bet on, don't forget that you can also bet in play with William Hill Online.
