Barclays Premier League Opta Facts – March 2-4

Chelsea v West Bromwich Albion

  • Chelsea have lost their last two Barclays Premier League games against WBA and they were the final matches in charge for Andre Villas-Boas and Roberto Di Matteo respectively.
  • The Blues had won each of their previous 11 Premier League encounters with the Baggies.
  • Chelsea have scored 17 goals in six previous Premier League home games against West Brom.
  • Chelsea have gone six Premier League games without keeping a clean sheet, winning only two games in that run.
  • Seven of WBA's last eight Premier League wins have seen them score exactly two goals.
  • WBA have won only four of the 20 Premier League games they've played in March.
  • Chelsea have been awarded nine penalties this season, more than any other side.
  • Romelu Lukaku is the top scoring teenager in the top five European leagues with 12 goals but is ineligible for this game as it is against his parent club.

  • Man Utd are looking to win five league games in a row for the second time this season, no other side has managed this once.
  • United will be unbeaten for 16 games if they avoid defeat in this game, surpassing Man City's 15 game unbeaten run from the start of the season.
  • United have hit the woodwork 19 times this season, only Everton have done so as often.
