Brazil will be without Rio... Adkins' Royal appointment?
After receiving his first call up to the national side in two years, Rio Ferdinand has had to withdraw from the squad, prompting William Hill to offer 1/7 that he fails to make the squad for the 2014 World Cup and 2/7 that he fails to win a cap during 2013.
"Rio's play of late certainly warranted a call up, but it is fair to say he is no spring chicken and this was perhaps his last chance to cement a place on the plane to the World Cup," said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly.
Nigel Adkins is the Even money favourite to take over as manager at Reading as his price has collapsed from 5/2 to Even money following a rush of money today. Eamonn Dolan is the 5/1 second favourite with Paolo Di Canio and Phil Parkinson both 7/1.
