  • VfL Bochum have won their last four home games against Hannover.
  • None of the 25 top-flight encounters between these two has resulted in a goalless draw.
  • Bochum have lost three consecutive home games, scoring just one goal in the process.
  • Hannover are the only team yet to win away from home in the Bundesliga, having collected only two points on the road thus far.
  • The 96ers have netted in each of their last 15 matches, making them the only team to score in every game of 2009 in the BL.

Arminia Bielefeld – VfB Stuttgart

  • None of the last nine clashes between these clubs have ended in a draw (five wins for Stuttgart, four wins for Bielefeld).
  • Stuttgart have won their last five matches in a row – keeping a clean sheet in four of these victories.
  • Bielefeld however haven’t won in any of their last five matches. After four defeats in a row, their last match was a draw (1-1 in Mönchengladbach).
  • Arminia Bielefeld haven’t scored more than one goal in any of their last 11 matches.

FC Schalke 04 – Bayer Leverkusen

  • Four of the last five fixtures between these two teams have been won by Leverkusen; there was one draw.
  • Schalke’s managerial pairing of Mike Büskens and Youri Mulder have, in two spells in charge of the side, won nine matches out of ten, keeping a clean sheet in each win.
  • KSC are the only team to have collected fewer points in 2009 (nine) than Bayer Leverkusen (ten).
  • However, Bayer have taken seven of these points on the road.

Eintracht Frankfurt – Borussia Dortmund

  • Eintracht Frankfurt haven’t won any of their last seven fixtures against Dortmund (three losses, four draws), despite scoring the opener in five of these matches.

VfL Wolfsburg – 1899 Hoffenheim

  • The meeting before the winter break ended 3-2 in favour of Hoffenheim. Grafite and Dzeko equalized the opening goals by Ibisevic and Carlos Eduardo before Wolfsburg were beaten for good by Obasi's 3-2 game clincher.
  • With 13 victories and one draw in 14 matches, along with a 12-game winning streak on their own turf, VfL are the league's best home team.
  • Hoffenheim have failed to score in five of their last eight games – something that only happened to them twice in their previous 21 matches.
  • The southwest Germans are without a win in 11 matches – only Karlsruhe have taken fewer points in 2009 (nine) than Hoffenheim (10).
  • Hoffenheim have lost just one of their last six games away from home (5 draws).

1. FC Köln – Werder Bremen

  • None of the last 10 matches between these two clubs have been won by Cologne; indeed, Werder Bremen have won the last five consecutive fixtures.
  • Werder have only won a single away match this season. This was on MD5 in Munich (5-2).
  • Cologne have lost their last four consecutive matches. This is their longest losing streak since being promoted to the Bundesliga again.
  • The Rhinelanders have taken more points from away matches (19) than they have out from home matches (13). The only club to have been less successful at home than Cologne is Bielefeld.
  • Only three of Milivoje Novakovic’s 15 goals have been scored at home. All five of his 2009 goals have been scored away from home, and in the second halves of matches.

Hamburger SV – Hertha BSC Berlin

  • The away side has failed to win in the last 15 meetings between the teams.
  • Hamburg have won six of their last seven home matches against Berlin (one draw).
  • Kaiserslautern and Frankfurt are the only two teams against whom Hertha have scored more goals (83) than they have against Hamburg (81) in the history of the Bundesliga.
  • Hamburg and Hertha lead the way in terms of games won by a single-goal margin this season (both 13) – no other side has won more than seven by a such a small margin.
  • HSV have only played in three draws this season – fewer than anyone else – but Hertha aren't far behind with only four draws. Last season, the Hanseatics tied 12 matches, more than any other team.
