Borussia Mönchengladbach v Eintracht Braunschweig

  • Of their 18 home games against Braunschweig in the Bundesliga, Gladbach have won 12 and lost only once, 3-2 back in October 1978 (D5).
  • The last three meetings between these sides in the Bundesliga (1984 and 1985) have all been won by Gladbach, with a goal difference of 20-2 in their favour.
  • In the 1984/85 season, Braunschweig suffered the biggest Bundesliga defeat in the club's history losing 10-0 away to Gladbach.
  • Braunschweig have not won any of their last nine competitive fixtures (D3, L6). Their last win, which secured their promotion, came on April 26th when they beat Ingolstadt 1-0.
  • Gladbach's last 14 league games have ended in either victory or defeat (W6, L8).
  • Braunschweig had 23 shots in their 1-1 draw with Nürnberg, the most they have managed in a game so far this season.

1.FC Nürnberg v Borussia Dortmund

  • Dortmund and Nürnberg have met 63 times in the Bundesliga. BVB have the better record, having won 31 games and lost just 13 (D18) with a goal difference of 105-67.
  • Nürnberg have won just one of their last 26 games against Dortmund (D9, L16) and that was nearly six years ago (2-0 at home in November 2007).
  • In the last six games against Dortmund, FCN have lost five times without scoring (one 1-1 draw).
  • Dortmund had never started a season with five wins before. Only seven teams in the history of the Bundesliga have started a season with six wins, four of whom went on to be champions.
  • Nürnberg have failed to win any of their six competitive games so far this season (D4, L2) - their last win came against Bremen (3-2) on matchday 34 of the 2012/13 season.
  • BVB have lost just one of their last 17 away games in the Bundesliga (W11, D5), losing 2-1 to archrivals Schalke on March 9th.

1.FSV Mainz 05 v Bayer 04 Leverkusen

  • A win in Mainz would give Leverkusen a club-record points-haul after six matchdays in the Bundesliga. The record stands at 14 points and Hyypiä's men currently have 12.
  • The record between these clubs in competitive fixtures is even at six wins a piece (D3). In the Bundesliga, Mainz have six wins to Leverkusen's five with a 21-20 goal difference.
  • Four of Mainz's six wins against Leverkusen have come at home (D1, L2). Both of the last two meetings in Mainz were won by the home side (1-0 in March 2013, 2-0 in August 2011).
  • Leverkusen have won nine of their last 10 Bundesliga games (L1, 2-0 v Schalke) and four of their last six away games (D1, L1).
  • Tuchel's men have lost their last two games and against Schalke (1-0) they failed to score for the first time this season.
  • Only once have Mainz had more points after five games than they do currently (9). In 2010/11, they had 15 points which saw them end up 5th in the table - the club's best finish.

Hamburger SV v SV Werder Bremen

  • Hamburger SV and Werder Bremen have met 98 times in the Bundesliga, more often than any other match-up. Bremen have won 34 compared to HSV's 31 (D33).
  • This Northern Derby will see the worst defence in the league in Hamburg (15 goals conceded) face the second-worst attack in Bremen (3 goals scored).
  • HSV have conceded 15 goals after five matchdays. In 50 years of the Bundesliga, Hamburg have conceded more on just two occasions (16 in 2011/12 and 17 in 1987/88).
  • Bremen have scored just three goals in five games, the last time they had such a poor tally was 39 years ago in the 1974/75 campaign.

Hannover 96 v FC Augsburg

  • Hannover have never lost a competitive game against Augsburg (W2, D4) with the last two games ending in 2-0 victories for Hannover.
  • FCA are the only current Bundesliga side that 96 have never lost to.
  • Hannover have won their last four Bundesliga home games and haven't lost at home in their last five - the last defeat coming against Bayern (6-1) back in April.
  • Augsburg's win against Freibrug (2-1) made it three consecutive wins for FCA, something they have never done in the Bundesliga before.
  • FCA have already collected as many points (9) as they did in the entire first half of last season. It's the first time the club have occupied a European spot (6th).
  • 96 have picked up all nine of their points at home. All eight of their goals have also been scored in the HDI-Arena.
  • Hannover and Augsburg are the only two Bundesliga sides that have come from behind to win this season.
  • Szabolcs Huszti returns after suspension in this game, despite missing two of the club's six games, the Hungarian has scored three goals and assisted one this season.
  • Halil Altintop has already scored 3 goals for FC Augsburg this season - the opener in the 2-1 win against Stuttgart and the equaliser in the 2-1 win against Freiburg. The striker leads the club's scoring charts.
  • The striker is on the verge of scoring his 50th Bundesliga goal (currently on 49) - the new signing would be the first Turkish player to achieve this feat in Germany's top flight.


VfL Wolfsburg v 1899 Hoffenheim

  • There have been as many home wins as away wins in the 10 Bundesliga meetings between these teams (4 each, D2). Three of them have gone Wolfsburg's way, who lead the head-to-head record 5-3.
  • There have been 39 goals in those 10 Bundesliga matches with Wolfsburg scoring at least once in each of the meetings.
  • Wolfsburg have won both of their home games this season without conceding and are unbeaten in seven Bundesliga home matches (W3, D4). Their last defeat in the VW Arena came back in March (4-1 win for Schalke).
  • Hoffenheim have scored at least once in their last nine Bundesliga games, but have also conceded at least one goal in their last 11 Bundesliga matches. They have matched their club record for conceding goals but will surpass that should Wolfsburg score in this fixture.

  • Hoffenheim's Kevin Volland and Anthony Modeste have both scored four goals this season and share fourth place in the goalscoring charts.
  • Marcel Schäfer made his 200th Bundesliga appearance on matchday 5. He could reach 200 for Wolfsburg this weekend, having made his first ever appearance for TSV 1860 München.

FC Schalke 04 v FC Bayern München

  • Bayern have won each of their last five league matches against Schalke, something that has never happened before between these two clubs.
  • FCB were the last team to keep a clean sheet at Schalke in the Bundesliga - a 2-0 win in September 2012. It was the only time in their last 33 Bundesliga home games that S04 have failed to score.
  • Bayern haven't lost any of their last 30 Bundesliga games (W25, D5), a new club record. Their last defeat was a 2-1 loss to Leverkusen in October 2012.
  • Bayern have scored in each of their last 42 Bundesliga matches - a league record. The last time FCB failed to find the back of the net in the top flight was on matchday 31 of the 2011/12 campaign (0-0 v Mainz).
  • FC Bayern haven't been beaten in their last 10 Saturday evening matches (W5, D5). The last game they lost in this time slot was to Schalke - 2-0 in December 2010. Since then, they have managed four wins and three draws in away games on Saturday evenings.
  • Victory would see Schalke claim their 600th win in the Bundesliga.
  • Toni Kroos could make his 150th Bundesliga appearance this weekend against Schalke.
  • Against Hannover Manuel Neuer kept his 100th clean sheet in the Bundesliga. No goalkeeper has reached this milestone at a younger age than Neuer (27 years, 171 days).
  • Neuer will face his old club Schalke 04 for the fifth time since his move to Bayern München, he has won all four previous meetings with them so far while keeping a clean sheet.


Sport-Club Freiburg v Hertha BSC

  • Hertha Berlin have won half of their 16 Bundesliga matches against SC Freiburg (D5, L3). They have even won six of the eight meetings in Freiburg (D1, L1).
  • With just two points from five games, Freiburg have made their worst ever start to a Bundesliga campaign - SCF had never been without a win in their first five Bundesliga games before now.
  • Freiburg have now been waiting six Bundesliga games for a victory (D2, L4), their longest winless run under Christian Streich.
  • Hertha have managed just one win in their last 13 Bundesliga away games (D6, L6) and have now been waiting five games for a victory on the road - along with Wolfsburg, currently the longest run of all Bundesliga sides.
  • Last season, Freiburg conceded an average of 1.2 goals per game and had the third-best defence in the league. So far this campaign however, they have conceded an average of 2.2 goals per game and have the third-worst defence in the division.
  • Hertha have now been waiting over three hours (196 minutes) for a Bundesliga goal. After matchday 3, Berlin had scored nine goals and had the second-best attack in the league behind Hoffenheim (10).
  • SCF haven't lost any of their last six home games on a Sunday (W4, D2). Hertha, on the other hand, haven't won any of their last four away games on a Sunday (D3, L1).

VfB Stuttgart v Eintracht Frankfurt

  • Thomas Schneider has won his first two Bundesliga games as Stuttgart manager, the last time a Stuttgart manager won his first three games in charge was when Joachim Löw was manager back in August 1996.
  • Eintracht have won only one of their last 12 Bundesliga games against Stuttgart (L9, D2) - a 2-1 win in Stuttgart back in October 2010.
  • Eintracht Frankfurt have won their last two away games without conceding,the last time the club from Hessen managed this was back in March 2008.

  • Eintracht manager Armin Veh had his most successful spell as a manager at VfB Stuttgart in the 2006/07 season, he led the club to the Bundesliga title and into the German Cup final, where they lost 3-2 after extra time to 1. FC Nürnberg.
