Bundesliga Opta Facts | 28-30 March

FC Schalke 04 - Hertha BSC

  • Hertha have collected just one point from their last 10 matches against Schalke, scoring just two goals in the process. Berlin's last victory over S04 dates back to September 17th 2006, when they won 2-0 at home.

  • Berlin have only won in one of their last 24 Bundesliga away games against Schalke (D8, L15). Hertha's last victory in Gelsenkirchen was a 3-1 win in November 2004.

  • Hertha have failed to score in their last six trips to Gelsenkirchen. Against no other side have Berlin suffered as long a goal drought in their Bundesliga history. Schalke have been able to keep a clean sheet in 21 of their 29 home games against Hertha in the top flight.

  • Schalke have collected 22 of a possible 24 points from their last eight home matches. Their last defeat in their own stadium was a 3-1 derby loss to Dortmund on October 26th.

  • Hertha are without a win in five straight games for the first time under Jos Luhukay (D2, L3), and have now suffered three defeats in a row. Berlin's last victory was a 2-1 win in Stuttgart on matchday 22.

  • Schalke have scored at least two goals in seven of their last eight home matches, only failing to score in that timeframe during their 0-0 draw against Mainz. On top of that, the Royal Blues have only conceded three goals in those eight home games.

  • Berlin have scored a total of just two goals in their last five Bundesliga matches.

  • Ralf Fährmann has already kept eight clean sheets in his 15 Bundesliga games this season - only Manuel Neuer has kept more (14). Fährmann's save percentage of 80.9% is only topped by the FC Bayern keeper (81.7%).

  • Adrian Ramos has been involved in 17 of Hertha's last 22 goals, scoring 13 and setting up a further four.

  • Kevin-Prince Boateng picked up his fifth yellow card of the season in the Ruhr derby and will miss the match against his former club. Boateng made 42 Bundesliga appearances for Hertha between 2005 and 2007 (4 goals).

Sport-Club Freiburg - 1. FC Nürnberg

  • Freiburg are unbeaten in their last nine Bundesliga matches against Nürnberg (W6, D3) - SCF have never had a run like that against any other team in their Bundesliga history.

  • Nürnberg have beaten Freiburg in just three of their 17 Bundesliga meetings (D5, L9). Against no other Bundesliga side (at least 2 meetings) have SCF collected as many points per game on average (1.88).

  • Freiburg are unbeaten in three successive games for the first time this season and have collected an impressive seven points from their matches against relegation rivals Frankfurt, Bremen and HSV. The last time SCF went as long without a defeat was in February/March 2013 (a run of 4 games without defeat).

  • After previously losing four games in a row, FCN won 2-0 against Stuttgart. One win has always led to a second for Nürnberg this season (matchdays 18/19 & matchdays 21/22).

  • Freiburg haven't kept a clean sheet in their last 14 Bundesliga home games and are the only professional football team in Germany yet to keep a clean sheet in their own stadium this season. SCF are last in the Bundesliga home table (13 points).

  • SCF and FCN have both scored at least once in each of their last three Bundesliga games. Freiburg last had a run like that in November, while Nürnberg's dates back to September.

  • Only Bayern (19 games) have gone longer without drawing a game than Nürnberg (10) - FCN's last draw was against Schalke at the end of December (0-0). Nevertheless, Verbeek's side have still secured the most draws in the league this season (11).

  • FCN have already hit the woodwork 22 times this season. The Bundesliga record since Opta started collecting this statistic in 2006/07 is held by Dortmund, who hit the post or crossbar 23 times during the 2011/12 campaign.

  • Oliver Baumann (124) and Raphael Schäfer (121) have made the most saves this season - Baumann set the season best in the meeting earlier in the campaign, making 13 saves.

  • Swiss heroes: Josip Drmic (15 goals, 3 assists) and Admir Mehmedi (8/4) are the top points-scorers (goals + assists) of their respective teams and used to play together at FC Zurich. With nine goals to his name, Drmic is currently the top scorer in 2014.

Borussia Mönchengladbach - Hamburger SV

  • This is Mönchengladbach's 92nd meeting with Hamburger SV (W36, D24, L31). Borussia have suffered just one defeat in their last six Bundesliga matches against HSV (W2, D3).

  • However, Hamburg haven't lost any of their last three away games against Gladbach (W1, D2).

  • In their last eight games, Gladbach's goal record in the second half is 0:7 - Borussia have never gone on a run of more Bundesliga games without scoring a goal after the break. HSV, on the other hand, have scored each of their last six goals in the second half.

  • Hamburg have lost each of their last five away games and haven't won on the road in seven attempts (D1, L6). Their last away win was over five months ago (3-0 in Freiburg on October 27th 2013).

  • HSV have failed to score in their last two away games and lost 1-0 in both Bremen and Stuttgart. The only goals they have scored in their four away games in 2014 both came in their 4-2 loss in Braunschweig.

  • HSV will face the second-best home team in the division in Gladbach. Borussia have collected 29 of their 42 points so far this season at home, with only Bayern more dominant in their own stadium (39 home points).

  • One of either Calhanoglu or Lasogga has been involved in six of the last seven HSV goals. The own goal from Nürnberg's Frantz was the only one that neither have had a hand in during that timeframe.

  • Calhanoglu is available again for HSV having served his one-match ban. Milan Badelj will be out though, having picked up his fifth booking of the season in the match against Freiburg.

  • Mirko Slomka has lost each of his last 11 away games as a Bundesliga manager (over 2 seasons) - that has never happened to him before in his career. His last victory on the road was a 3-2 win in Fürth with Hannover last April.

  • Slomka has lost each of his last three matches against Borussia. In fact, he has lost five of the last six - his only win in that timeframe came with Hannover almost exactly two years ago (2-1 at home on April 1st 2012).

VfB Stuttgart - Borussia Dortmund

  • Stuttgart have been waiting seven Bundesliga games for a win against Dortmund (D4, L3). Their last victory over BVB was over four years ago - a 4-1 home win in January 2010.

  • VfB's fixture list over the coming weeks looks tricky with meetings against Dortmund (H), Gladbach (A), Schalke (H), Wolfsburg (H) and Bayern (A). They also have matches against Freiburg and Hannover.

  • With just 24 points after 27 games, Stuttgart are having the worst Bundesliga season in the club's history. On top of that, the only other time they had suffered 15 defeats after only 27 matches was in the 1974/75 campaign, which ended in relegation.

  • VfB have collected just five points in the second half of the season - all other teams have claimed at least eight. On top of that, only Wolfsburg (22) have conceded more goals since the winter break than Stuttgart (21).

  • Stuttgart have claimed just five points from their last twelve games and suffered their first defeat under Huub Stevens in the match against Nürnberg, the coach's third game in charge.

  • Dortmund are second in the away table with 26 points and have won five of their last seven away matches. On top of that, BVB haven't conceded a goal away from home in 180 minutes.

  • BVB have lost each of their last four Bundesliga games ahead of a Champions League match.

  • The game in Stuttgart is Jürgen Klopp's 300th as a Bundesliga manager - of the current Bundesliga managers, only Huub Stevens has been in the dugout for more games (339). Stuttgart-born Klopp's first Bundesliga game as a manager was also against VfB - a 4-2 loss with Mainz on August 8th 2004.

  • Stuttgart's sporting director Fredi Bobic played for both teams. He wore Dortmund colours from 1999-2002 (56 Bundesliga games, 17 goals) and was a Stuttgart player from 1994-99 (148 games, 69 goals).

  • Julian Schieber moved to BVB from VfB in 2012, Moritz Leitner is currently on loan at Stuttgart from Dortmund and Antonio Rüdiger played in Borussia's youth setup between 2008 and 2011.

  • Arthur Boka is set for his 150th Bundesliga game (5 goals) - all 149 have been for VfB.

VfL Wolfsburg - Eintracht Frankfurt

  • Frankfurt have won just four of their 23 Bundesliga games against Wolfsburg (D8, L11). Against no other current Bundesliga team have Eintracht collected as few points per game on average as against the Wolves (0.87).

  • However, VfL have won just one of their last six Bundesliga home games against Frankfurt (D4, L1). Eintracht celebrated a 2-0 win on their last trip to Wolfsburg (December 2012), their first and to date only away win against the Wolves.

  • Wolfsburg's 3-1 win in Bremen ended a run of four games without victory and means they are now unbeaten in three matches (W1, D2).

  • After their wins against Nürnberg (5-2) and Gladbach (1-0), Frankfurt have extended their advantage over 16th and 17th to eight points. The last time Eintracht celebrated back-to-back wins in the Bundesliga was in January/February 2013.

  • Wolfsburg have scored in each of their last 19 Bundesliga games. They have only had longer goalscoring runs twice before, most recently between October 2009 and April 2010 (21 games, club record). The last time VfL failed to score was in their 2-0 loss to Braunschweig at the start of October.

  • Frankfurt have already collected 17 points since the winter break, two more than they managed in the whole first half of the season (15). It's the first time since 2003/04 that Eintracht have claimed more points in the second half of a Bundesliga season than the first.

  • Eintracht striker Joselu has scored four goals in his last three games, more than he managed in his first 14 appearances this season combined (3). The Eagles' top scorer (7 league goals) turned 24 years old two days before the game.

  • Frankfurt's Marco Russ is suspended (5 yellow cards) and will miss the meeting with his former club: He was a VfL player between summer 2011 and January 2013.

  • Alexander Madlung and manager Armin Veh also have a history with Wolfsburg. Madlung wore VfL colours from 2006-13 (166 Bundesliga games, 12 goals). Veh took over from title-winning manager Felix Magath in 2009, but only stayed until January 2010.

  • Wolfsburg's Patrick Ochs was a youth player at Eintracht for 11 years and wore the Eagles' colours between 2004 and 2011 in 28 second-division (1 goal) and 174 Bundesliga games (4 goals).

FC Bayern München - 1899 Hoffenheim

  • Hoffenheim are still without a win against the record champions and have lost their last four matches against FCB. TSG have secured just three draws from their 11 meetings - they are still without a point from five away matches against Bayern.

  • Thanks to their 3-1 win in Berlin, FC Bayern wrapped up their 24th German league title seven matchdays before the end of the season. Never before has a team from Europe's top five leagues secured the league title as early.

  • Bayern's record run goes on: They have won each of their last 19 Bundesliga games, they're unbeaten in their last 52 top-flight matches (W46, D6) and they have scored in each of their last 64 Bundesliga games.

  • Hoffenheim have secured back-to-back wins for the first time under Markus Gisdol. They last achieved that in September 2012.

  • Bayern have won each of their last 38 home games on a Saturday afternoon, with a goal record of 124:15. The last time they failed to win in that timeslot was in a 2-1 loss to Mainz in September 2010.

  • Hoffenheim are just one win away from the best second half of a Bundesliga season in the club's history. They collected 20 points after the winter break in their debut campaign in 2008/09 - TSG currently have 17 points and sit fourth in a table representing the second half of the season.

  • On the offensive: Bayern have scored the most goals in the league (79), followed in second by Hoffenheim (60). However, TSG have conceded the most goals in the division (59).

  • Franck Ribery has been involved in nine goals in his last four matches against Hoffenheim (3 goals, 6 assists).

  • Roberto Firmino has been involved in 23 goals in 26 matches this season (13 goals, 10 assists) and is the top points-scorer (goals + assists) in the Bundesliga. He is also the best assist provider with 10. He extended his contract at Hoffenheim until 2017 during the week.

  • Markus Gisdol took over at TSG on matchday 28 of the 2012/13 season. Having been in charge of 34 games, he has the equivalent of a full season behind him. His record so far is even: 12 wins, 10 draws and 10 defeats with a goal record of 72:74.

Bayer 04 Leverkusen - Eintracht Braunschweig

  • Leverkusen may lead their Bundesliga head-to-head with Braunschweig 6-4 (1 draw), but Bayer 04 have only won one of their last four games against Eintracht (D1, L2) and have failed to score in three of those matches.

  • Level playing field: Fourth-placed Leverkusen and last-placed Braunschweig have both collected 10 points since the winter break.

  • Bayer 04 ended their run of nine competitive games without a win (D1, L8) thanks to their 3-1 victory in Augsburg and celebrated their 500th win in the Bundesliga.

  • Leverkusen now have to end their run at home: They have lost each of their last three Bundesliga home games and their last five competitive matches in the BayArena. The last time Bayer 04 lost more than 3 Bundesliga home games in a row was in 2003/04 (4 games).

  • With just six points from 13 games, Braunschweig are the worst away team in the Bundesliga this season. Wolfsburg are the only side they have beaten on the road (2-0).

  • Braunschweig are without a win in their last nine Bundesliga away games (D3, L6), currently the longest winless run away from home of all the teams in the top flight.

  • Karim Bellarabi is on loan at Braunschweig from Leverkusen this season. The attacker actually moved to Bayer 04 from Eintracht in 2011 and has scored four goals in 23 competitive appearances for Leverkusen.

  • Kevin Kratz was a youth-team and reserve player for Bayer 04 between 1998 and 2009, but he never made a first-team appearance for Leverkusen.

  • Domi Kumbela has been involved in eight (62%) of Braunschweig's 13 goals since February (6 goals, 2 assists).

  • Stefan Kießling has scored in each of his last three Bundesliga games, a feat he has now achieved twice in 2013/14. The last time he had a longer goalscoring run was from the end of the last campaign to the start of this one, scoring in seven straight games across two seasons.

FSV Mainz 05 - FC Augsburg

  • Mainz have won just one of their five Bundesliga matches against Augsburg, collecting an average of 0.8 points per game against them (the same as against Dortmund) - FSV only have a worse points-per-game average against Bayern (0.69; at least 3 meetings required)

  • FCA claimed their first-ever Bundesliga win back in October 2011 - their opponents in that game were Mainz, who were beaten 1-0 in their own stadium (goalscorer: Callsen-Bracker).

  • Andre Hahn bagged his first Bundesliga brace in the meeting earlier this season. Sebastian Polter won a penalty that brought his team back in the game at 2-1 and ended the game in between the posts for Mainz after Heinz Müller had injured himself and back-up goalkeeper Christian Wetklo was sent off.

  • Mainz have lost their last two Bundesliga matches, while FCA are without a win in three. However, Augsburg are unbeaten in their last eight away matches (W4, D4).

  • Europa League battle: Seventh place, a position currently occupied by Mainz, could be enough for Europa League football - the requirement is that the two finalists in the German Cup both qualify for the Champions League.

  • Clinical: Mainz have converted 51.7% of their clear-cut chances - only Augsburg (54.9%) and Schalke (55.4%) have a better percentage.

  • Only FSV (5) have scored fewer goals from set-pieces than FCA (6, the same as Nürnberg).

  • Mainz (Müller, Wetklo, Karius) and Augsburg (Amsif, Manninger, Hitz) are the only two clubs that have already used three different goalkeepers in the Bundesliga this season.

  • Tobias Werner has scored a goal in each of his last four Bundesliga games - no Augsburg player has ever done that in the top flight before - and he has been involved in five of FCA's last six goals (4 goals, 1 assist).

  • Ja-Cheol Koo played for Augsburg between January 2012 and July 2013 (on loan from Wolfsburg) and made 36 Bundesliga appearances for FCA in that timeframe (8 goals, 3 assists).

  • Thomas Tuchel won the German Youth Cup with FCA in 1991 and 1992. He was also a youth coach at Augsburg between 2005 and 2008 (U19s and U23

Hannover 96 - SV Werder Bremen

  • This is the 52nd meeting between Hannover 96 and SV Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga. Bremen lead the head-to-head with 27 wins (D13, L11). However, 96 have won each of their last three home games against Werder.

  • Goal guarantee: There has been an average of 4.3 goals per game in the last 16 Bundesliga meetings between Hannover and Bremen.

  • Strong at home: The away team has only won once in the last 14 Bundesliga meetings between these two sides: Bremen celebrated a 5-1 victory in Hannover in February 2010. Otherwise there have been 10 home wins and three draws.

  • Werder have collected 13 points from their seven games against fellow northern German clubs and lead the 'northern table' as a result. Hannover are bottom in that table with seven points, although they have only played five games.

  • Bremen haven't won any of their last three Bundesliga games (D1, L2). Their last victory was a 2-0 win over Nürnberg on March 8th.

  • Hannover have won just one of their last eight Bundesliga games (D2, L5) - a 3-0 win away at Hertha on matchday 25.

  • 96 have failed to win at home in their last three attempts (D1, L2). Their last home victory was a 3-1 win against Gladbach on February 1st.

  • Hannover's final seven games are all against teams currently between 11th and 18th in the Bundesliga table.

  • Werder have already conceded 10 goals in the opening 15 minutes of matches - a league high. On top of that, Bremen have failed to win any of the last 16 games in which they have trailed at half time (D2, L14).

  • Bizarre defensive record: Werder (479) have allowed the second-most shots after only Nürnberg (465) and have conceded 53 goals. However, they have kept nine clean sheets this season (the same as Dortmund) - only Bayern (15) and Schalke (11) have kept more.

  • Czech defender Theodor Gebre Selassie is set for his 50th Bundesliga appearance for SVW.
