Bundesliga Opta Facts - 5-6 March
VfL Wolfsburg - Borussia Mönchengladbach
o Borussia have lost 55% of their Bundesliga games against VfL (17/31) - proportionally speaking a negative club record. However, they've won the most recent two top-flight fixtures, keeping consecutive clean sheets in the process.
o The Foals have struggled in Wolfsburg in recent years (D1, L9 - F5, A19).
o The home side have won eight of the last 11 Bundesliga meetings (D3). VfL were the last side to claim an away win in the fixture (4-0 in March 2010)
o The 1995 DFB Cup final was the first competitive meeting of the sides (BMG won 3-0). This defeat was avenged by the Wolves in November 1998 though - that 7-1 win over the Foals is their most emphatic Bundesliga victory to date.
o Wolfsburg had 23 attempts in their last game at Hannover - their joint high this season along with their first game against 96.
o 92.3% of Wolfsburg's passes at Hannover were successful - their top value since Opta collects passing accuracies (2004/05).
o Max Kruse joined the Wolves from Gladbach last summer. He netted 23 goals in 66 Bundesliga games for Gladbach, including the winner when the sides met at Borussia-Park on 26th April 2015.

VfB Stuttgart - TSG 1899 Hoffenheim
o VfB haven't won any of their last four Bundesliga games against TSG (D1, L3). That draw came in the reverse fixture (2-2, despite falling behind twice).
o Hoffenheim have scored at least two goals in each of the last five meetings of the sides (12 in total).
o VfB's last win over TSG dates back to September 2013 (6-2). Alexandru Maxim had a hand in four goals that day (2 goals + 2 assists) - since then he is yet to pick up two scorer points (goals + assists) in a Bundesliga game.
o In Gladbach (0-4) Stuttgart have conceded their highest defeat in the Bundesliga since the 0-4 v Augsburg, after that Coach Alexander Zorniger was fired. No other team has conceded as much goals as Stuttgart this season (48).
o The sides have played seven Bundesliga matches in Stuttgart and at least two goals have been netted on each occasion (27 in total, 3.9 per game on average).
o Kevin Kuranyi played in the Stuttgart academy (1997-2001) before representing their first team for the next four years (40 goals in 99 Bundesliga appearances).

FC Augsburg - Bayer 04 Leverkusen
o The sides face off for the 10th time in the Bundesliga this weekend. FCA have a poor record in the fixture to date (D2, L7 - although those draws came in the last two meetings).
o The Swabians are therefore winless against Bayer 04 in the top flight. They are also yet to claim a Bundesliga victory over Darmstadt and Ingolstadt.
o Goalkeeper Marvin Hitz rescued Augsburg a point when the sides met in February 2015 (2-2). In doing so he became only the third Bundesliga goalkeeper to score from open play in the top-flight (i.e. not from a penalty).
o Bayer 04's Bernd Leno and Stefan Kießling have featured in all nine of the previous Bundesliga meetings of the sides.
o Halil Altintop hasn't been directly involved in a goal against the Werkself for 1275 minutes - a negative personal record for the Turk.

SV Werder Bremen - Hannover 96
o This will be the 56th Bundesliga meeting of the sides. Hannover haven't faced a side more frequently in the top flight (also 55 games to date vs. HSV).
o H96 have only been beaten more frequently by Bayern (36) and Gladbach (29) than they have by Bremen in the Bundesliga (28, otherwise W12, D15), conceding 122 goals in the process.
o Hannover haven't lost any of the last three meetings (W1, D2) but they've ever gone four consecutive top-flight clashes against SVW without defeat.
o The Lower Saxony side have won just one of their last 27 games in Bremen (D8, L18). That victory came 13 years ago - 2-1 thanks to Fredi Bobic's brace.
o 96 have lost eight of their last 12 in Bremen (D4) and were shut out on seven of those occasions (F8, A33).
o The ball has hit the back of the net 195 times in the 55 Bundesliga meetings to date (SVW: 122, H96: 73), so a milestone could be reached this weekend! The last 20 clashes have featured 80 goals (4.0 per game, SVW: 51, H96: 29).
o Claudio Pizarro has a great record against Hannover in the Bundesliga (W10, D6, L3), scoring 11 times in the process. He has faced them seven times in Bremen colours, netting on six occasions.
o Hugo Almeida played for Werder between summer 2006 and January 2011 (41 goals in 117 Bundesliga appearances). He won the DFB Cup alongside current Bremen assistant coach Torsten Frings in 2009.
o Thomas Schaaf is well known in Bremen. He joined them as a youth team player in 1972 and spent 41 years at the club in varying guises. Whilst there he won the title on three occasions and lifted five DFB Cups.
o Viktor Skripnik won the double with Werder in 2004 under Schaaf's stewardship. Torsten Frings lifted the DFB Cup twice under the current Hannover boss (1999 - alongside Skripnik - and 2009).
Eintracht Frankfurt - FC Ingolstadt
o Since a 1-0 away win in Bremen on MD 5 Ingolstadt are winless in 9 consecutive away matches (D4, L5). Ingolstadt scored a league low 6 away goals and is the only BL team that never scored more than 1 goal in an away match in 2015/16.
o As for the beginning of the season Ingolstadt collected 11 points in their first 7 matches in the 2nd half of 2015/16. Among all teams with 31 or more points after 24 matches in BL history only Waldhof Mannheim in 1989/90 got relegated.
o The sides meet for the fourth time competitively this weekend and FCI are yet to be beaten by the side from Hesse (W1, D2). The reverse fixture was won by the Eagles (2-0).
o SGE haven't won any of their last nine home Bundesliga games against a side from Bavaria (D5, L4). Their last triumph over a side from the region in front of their own fans dates back to November 2012 (4-2 vs. Augsburg).
o Ingolstadt have scored in each of their last three Bundesliga games - which is a new record in their Bundesliga history.
o Frankfurt have not won any of their last 6 games, managing only 3 points in this time-span. It is the worst season for the Eintracht in the last 17 years. In 1998/99 they also had only 23 points after 24 matchdays.
o Heinz Lindner (Frankfurt) and Markus Suttner (Ingolstadt) previously played together for Austria Vienna (2009-2015). During that timeframe they won the domestic cup (2009) and league title (2013).
o FCI's Benjamin Hübner is the son of Eintracht sporting director Bruno Hübner.
o FCI sporting director Thomas Linke had a good record against SGE during his playing career (W7, D3, L2 - for S04 and FCB). He scored two Bundesliga goals against the Eagles - his best tally against a particular opponent.
o FCI boss Ralph Hasenhüttl faced Eintracht twice as a SpVgg Greuther Fürth player during the 2001/02 second-tier campaign (4-1 A, 1-1-H).
o Eintracht Frankfurt turn 117 three days after the match.
1. FC Köln - FC Schalke 04
o Köln have won just 1 of their last 7 matches (D3, L3): 3-1 against Frankfurt on MD 21. In their last 3 matches Köln collected just 1 point.
o Köln have conceded a goal in each of their last 10 matches - that's their longest stretch in the BL since 2008/09 (11 matches) and currently the 2nd longest stretch in the BL behind Werder Bremen (27 matches).
o Köln have won their last three Bundesliga games against S04 - their best run of form against the Royal Blues for over 30 years (6 successive wins, 1981-1985)..
o This match will be the 80th Bundesliga meeting between the sides. The Billy Goats lead the head-to-head record (W35, D18, L26). They haven't beaten a top-flight side on more occasions (also 35 wins over VfB).
o Schalke had against HSV its first come-from-behind-win since Andre Breitenreiter took over as S04-coach (3-2).
o Köln have conceded in each of their last 10 BL games - their longest run since 2008/09 when they conceded in 11 games in a row.
o Sascha Riether played for Köln during the 2011/12 season (33 Bundesliga appearances, 0 goals). He couldn't help them beat the drop though.
o Mergim Mavraj and Johannes Geis previously played together at Greuther Fürth (January 2011-June 2013). The Bavarians achieved Bundesliga promotion in 2011/12 but spent just one campaign in the top tier.
o Schalke sporting director Horst Heldt began his playing career at 1. FC Köln (130 Bundesliga appearances, 13 goals - 1990-1995).
o Köln vice-president and legend Toni Schumacher moved to Schalke in 1987 after the Billy Goats suspended him. His new side finished bottom of the pile that season and were consequently relegated to the second division.
o Schumacher turns 62 one day after the match.
Borussia Dortmund - FC Bayern München
o Dortmund have come out on top in just one of the last seven Bundesliga meetings of the sides (3-0 in the Allianz Arena in April 2014, otherwise D2, L4).
o BVB have lost each of their last three Bundesliga matches against Bayern - they have only lost more consecutive games to FCB on one occasion (5, 1968-1970).
o The Munich side's record Bundesliga win to date came against Dortmund (11-1 in November 1971).
o Thomas Tuchel's side have won all three of their games in the primetime slot this term (most recently 3-1 vs. BMG). Bayern won their first two Saturday evening games of the campaign before drawing in Leverkusen on matchday 20 (0-0).
o Mario Götze, who joined the Bavarians from BVB for €37 million in summer 2013, hasn't featured in the Bundesliga since the reverse fixture, which Bayern won 5-1. He helped himself to a goal and an assist in that match.
o Mats Hummels graduated from Bayern's academy. He made one top-flight appearance for FCB - on matchday 34 of the 2006/07 campaign (vs. M05).
o Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Douglas Costa played together at Shakhtar Donetsk. The duo won the double three times in Ukraine (2011, 2012 and 2013).
o Gonzalo Castro and Arturo Vidal played together in Leverkusen (2007-2011).
o Thomas Tuchel has been beaten in each of his last five league clashes vs. Bayern. He last took a point off the record champions in April 2012 (goalless draw whilst still in charge of Mainz).
o Matthias Sammer made 115 Bundesliga appearances for Borussia Dortmund (21 goals, 1993-1997), winning the Champions League in 1997. He guided BVB to the title in 2002, becoming the youngest head coach to win the league in the process.
o For the first time since December 17 2005 Bayern had just one German player in their starting eleven. Against Mainz it was Manuel Neuer, back then (Bayern won 2-1 in Dortmund) it was Oliver Kahn.
FSV Mainz 05 - SV Darmstadt 98
o M05's 3-2 win in the reverse fixture was the first Bundesliga meeting of the sides.
o The two clubs faced each other in a total of 14 second tier fixtures (2. Liga and 2. Liga Süd). Mainz edge that head-to-head record (W8, D1, L5).
o SVD will take to the field on a Sunday for the seventh time in this game (all away - W2, D1, L3). Their last victory on this day came in Sinsheim (2-0 vs. TGS).
o Mainz have won 5 of their last 6 games in the Bundesliga.
o Darmstadt are the 3rd best away team in the Bundesliga 2015-16 - they collected 18 of their 25 points on foreign soil, the highest ratio (72%) of all teams.
o Mainz have not lost any of their last 6 games at home (5 W, 1 D).
o Darmstadt have scored the most Bundesliga goals this season from set-piece type situations (15), and also the most headed goals of all teams (11).
o Only in 2010/11 Mainz had more points after 24 matchdays (40) than in this season (39).
o With 6 goals, Darmstadt's Aytac Sulu is the most dangerous defender in Europe's Top 5 Leagues (along with Augsburg's Paul Verhaegh). Sulu scored all 6 goals away from home.
o Berlin-born Leon Balogun made 21 appearances for the Lilies in the second-division last season. He has previously played alongside Konstantin Rausch, Jan Rosenthal (both Hannover) and Sandro Wagner (Bremen).

Hamburger SV - Hertha BSC
o The sides meet for the 66th time in the Bundesliga this weekend and Hertha lead the head-to-head record (W27, D13, L25). Both sides could hit a century of goals in the fixture during this clash (HSV: 99 to date, BSC: 97 so far).
o The capital club have won their last five Bundesliga games against HSV, keeping five clean sheets in the process. Hamburg's last first-division victory in this fixture dates back to January 2012 (2-1 in Berlin).
o BSC have lost by a margin of six goals in the Bundesliga on three occasions to date, including a 6-0 home defeat vs. HSV in April 1980. This defeat proved costly as they were relegated at the end of the campaign by virtue of being two goals worse off than the last surviving side.
o HSV won just one of their last 10 games (3-2 vs. Mönchengladbach). Only last-place-team Hannover had fewer point in these 10 games (5) than Hamburg (7).
o Hertha managed their 11th clean sheet of the season against Frankfurt, setting a new club-record for the first 24 matchdays. Only Bayern had more clean sheets in 2015/16 (14).

o Hertha sporting director Michael Preetz netted 10 goals in 16 Bundesliga appearances - a personal record (also 10 vs. TSV 1860 München).
