1899 Hoffenheim v SpVgg Greuther Fürth
This game will be the 15,000th match in BL history. It will be only the seventh ever Bundesliga match that Fürth have played. Only two of the current BL teams have played fewer Bundesliga games in their history than Hoffenheim (143 BL games).
It will be the first BL meeting between Hoffenheim and Fürth. Last season they met in the German DFB-Pokal quarter-finals (at Hoffenheim's home venue). The game resulted in a 1-0 victory for Fürth.
Markus Babbel was promoted to the club's new head coach only two days after Hoffenheim's defeat to Fürth in the German DFB-Pokal.
Fürth (and Wolfsburg) have only scored two goals in their first seven BL matches, currently the worst record of the season. There have been only two other teams in BL history to score as few as two goals in their first seven matches.
Hoffenheim have failed to score in their last two games; Fürth in their last three.
Hoffenheim's big chance conversion rate (58%) is only bettered by Dortmund (65%) whereas Fürth are the only BL team not to convert any of their big chances.
All of the last eight teams to gain just four points in their first seven BL matches of a season have managed to avoid relegation. The last team not to stay in the league with this record was Cottbus ten years ago.
Daniel Williams has been shown five yellows which means he is not eligible to play against Fürth. The midfielder is the first player to collect five yellow cards this season.
Hoffenheim's Stephan Schröck played in 183 games for Fürth in the German second division, scoring seven goals and providing 24 assists before moving clubs in the summer.

Bayer Leverkusen v 1. FSV Mainz
There have been 12 Bundesliga meetings between Leverkusen and Mainz so far, altogether resulting in an even record (five wins each, two draws, goals 18-18).
For the first time since September 2010 Mainz have won two consecutive BL games without conceding a goal. They have never managed to win three consecutive BL games while keeping clean sheets.
After losing two out of their first three games this season, Leverkusen have not lost any of their last four games (two wins, two draws). It's as many as six unbeaten games in all competitions (three wins, three draws).
Leverkusen have lost none of their last six BL home games (four wins, two draws). The last time the club had a longer home streak was between January and August 2011 (nine home games: seven wins, two draws).
No other team in the German top flight has created more big chances than Leverkusen - 20 (as well as Bayern). Of which, they have converted eight (40% big chance conversion rate which is slightly below league average - 42.3%).

Leverkusen's Manuel Friedrich started his career in 1995 with Mainz. Apart from an unsuccessful 18-months-interval with Werder Bremen (July 2002 - January 2004), he spent 12 consecutive years with Mainz (99 BL games, four goals) before joining Leverkusen in 2007.
Andre Schürrle set a club record in 2010/11 for Mainz when he scored 15 goals during the season.
In 2004/05 Thomas Tuchel won the Under-19 German Championship as coach with Stuttgart. Their opponents in the final were VfL Bochum - coached by a certain Sascha Lewandowski. It was none other than Adam Szalai (aged 17 back then) who scored the only goal of the game, thus securing the title.
Borussia Dortmund v 1. FC Schalke 04
For the first time in 15 years, Dortmund managed to win both Revierderbies (highly observed match between the two biggest clubs in the Ruhr area) last season. Another victory for Dortmund would see them winning three consecutive derbies for the first time since the 1960s (8 consecutive wins between 1964 and 1967).
Schalke have failed to score at Dortmund in the last two matches (239 minutes total). Their worst streak without scoring at Dortmund in the German top flight is 319 minutes (1964-1966).
This match will be Schalke's 1,500th Bundesliga game.
Dortmund have lost only one of their last 36 BL games (29 wins, six draws) - 1-2 vs. Hertha BSC Berlin in September 2011. They have won 15 out of their last 17 home games (two draws).
Dortmund scored in each of their last 27 BL home games - the best run in their history.
The last home game in which Dortmund failed to score was versus Schalke (0-0) in February 2011.
Schalke have lost only one of their last 13 competitive games (MD4; 0-2 vs. Bayern), winning eight and drawing four.
Schalke are the only Bundesliga side unbeaten away from home this season. They have lost none of their last seven away games (four wins, three draws). Their last away loss took place in Nürnberg in April (1-4).
Dortmund are currently nine points behind Bayern. The only team in history to make up such a big deficit and eventually win the championship was VfL Wolfsburg, who were 11 points behind Hoffenheim at one stage before their captured the 2008/09 championship.
In 2012 Lukas Piszczek is the Bundesliga's leading assist-making defender with nine, followed by Schalke's Christian Fuchs (seven).
No other player has been involved in as many Bundesliga goals as Klaas-Jan Huntelaar (17 goals scored, eight assists) in 2012. He is followed by Marco Reus (12 goals, nine assists).
Eintracht Frankfurt v Hannover 96.
Hannover have won their last three matches against Eintracht Frankfurt since Mirko Slomka as their head coach.
Despite of the fact that Hannover won their last game in Frankfurt (3-0), they have only managed to win two matches at Frankfurt in the last 27 years (including top flight and second division games); as well as picking four draws and four losses there.
Frankfurt have lost none of their four home games in 2012/13 and gained 10 points from games. They have gone behind in three of the four games but battled back to win two and draw the other.
Hannover have lost eight and won only one of their last nine away games.
Frankfurt leads the German top flight in gaining points after going behind (seven, all earned in home games).
If just considering the first half of league matches this season, Hannover would be top of the Bundesliga along with Bayern (both collecting 14 points).
Ron-Robert Zieler made his first BL appearance at Eintracht Frankfurt on January 16th 2011 (3-0 victory).
Zieler also recollects a bad memory linking to Frankfurt. On August 15th this year, he became the first goalkeeper in history to be sent off for the German national team while playing in the city. Germany lost 1-3 to Argentina. Zieler was sent off in the 30th minute.
Hannover's Szabolcs Huszti has been involved in more goals than any other Bundesliga players this season (three goals scored, seven assists), Frankfurt's Alex Meier is third on the list with four goals and two assists.

Fortuna Düsseldorf v Bayern Munich
Bayern's 21 points and 21-2 goal difference from their first seven BL games of the season is the best start made by a Bundesliga side. No team has ever won all of their first eight games.
Bayern will lead the German top flight at the end of MD 8 for the 600th time - the best record in German football. They have been on top of the table since MD1.
Düsseldorf have lost 25 BL games against Bayern - more than defeats than against any other team. Their last Bundesliga meetings took place in 1996/97, Bayern won both games.
Düsseldorf have lost their last six consecutive home games against Bayern. It's been 27 years since Düsseldorf beat Bayern at home.
It's also been more than two decades since Düsseldorf won a BL meeting with Bayern (April 1991; 1-0 away victory against a Bayern team coached by Jupp Heynckes).

Freiburg have won 44% of their BL matches against VfL Wolfsburg. Only against Nürnberg (53%) and Augsburg (50%) do they have a higher winning rate of the current Bundesliga teams. Freiburg have won eight of their 18 BL games versus Wolfsburg (six draws, four losses).
There has not been a single win for the visiting team in the last eight duels between Wolfsburg and Freiburg (but seven home victories). Freiburg's last victory at Wolfsburg took place in August 2004.

This will mark the 95th time that these two sides have met.
Stuttgart won the last duel at Hamburg 4-0. It was the highest away win for Stuttgart in Hamburg in the Bundesliga. Back then, Hamburg's Paolo Guerrero was sent off and subsequently banned for eight games after having tackled Stuttgart keeper Sven Ulreich ruthlessly from behind.
Only twice before have Stuttgart started a Bundesliga season as poorly as this one (47 season). They have picked up just six points from their first seven games. In 1974/75 they were relegated for the only time in their BL history, having picked only three points out of the first 21 on offer.
Hamburg have won their last two BL games. This is the only time in the last 21 months that the club have won back-to-back league games.
Hamburg and Stuttgart have allowed their opponents more shots on target than anyone else in the Bundesliga (Hamburg 45, Stuttgart 43).
