Canaries chirping their way back to The Championship
After their impressive win over Leeds last week, Norwich are now eleven points clear at the top of League One and a return to the Championship is all but confirmed.
They take on Tranmere who are in the relegation zone but it is so tight down there, a win could put them joint-sixteenth.
Norwich have the best away record in the league, losing just four of their nineteen matches. They have scored the most and conceded the second least so playing away from Carrow Road is clearly no big obstacle for them.
Tranmere have lost as many as they have won at home and concede more than they score there. On paper, it is hard to see anything other than a big away win.
I am always wary when betting at this time in a season though with teams having different priorities, Norwich's mind could be on building for next year and could become complacent where as Tranmere players are fighting for their futures, which is still in their hands.
If you think Tranmere can cause an upset, the 2/1 on them with the draw no bet is what I would recommend.
Tranmere (14/5) have just one win in six and have just one goal in their last four matches. They have had trouble putting the ball in the net, just 31 goals in 37 this season and facing one of the most water-tight teams in the league will not help their cause in this match.
For Norwich (8/11) this is the first of two games in four days, both against clubs in the lower parts of the table. They don't have any major injury worries other than midfielder Korey Smith. Players could be rested or they could go all guns blazing in the hope to secure their promotion as early as possible.
Ian Thomas-Moore is Tranmere's top scorer with just eight league goals, other than him nobody has even scored more than four. Thomas-Moore is 7/1 to open the scoring in front of the home crowd.
Norwich have had no such problems, they have three players with over ten league goals this season. Wes Hoolahan (7/1 first) has eleven, Chris Martin (5/1) has fifteen and Grant Holt (4/1) is their top scorer with a massive 22 goals this season.
Depending on how Norwich line up and approach the game they are surely nailed on for the three points. I would be very tempted on the 9/4 on them -1 goal in the handicaps market.
