Chairboys sitting pretty

Wycombe Wanderers go into their live televised League 2 match against Rotherham United sitting in second place. The Chairboys can go level on points with leaders Brentford with a win and they will still have a game in hand.

Peter Taylor's side were clear at the top until hitting a bad run of form not long ago when they won just one in six. The run included a shocking home loss to strugglers Grimsby. The win was the Mariners first away success of the season.

This allowed Brentford to overtake Wycombe at the top of the table but since then Wanderers have won two of their last three matches to keep within touch of Andy Scott's side. In the League 2 outright betting Brentford are the favourites at 15/8 with Wycombe second favourites at 5/2.

The defeat to Grimsby at Adams Park is still the only league loss at home this season for Wycombe. They have won eight of their 14 home matches and look good value to get their ninth win against Rotherham at 19/20.

The draw is available at 23/10 and an away win for the Millers is priced at 3/1.

Rotherham have won five of their 14 away matches but the 19/20 about second-placed Wycombe looks too good to turn down. If you are a little put off by the odds-on price then you can get better value by backing Wycombe to win both halves in our double result market. Wycombe half-time/Wycombe full time is available at an extremely tempting 21/10.

Mark Robins' side have had their well-documented troubles this season after being deducted 17 points before a ball was kicked and have also temporarily relocated to Sheffield to play at the Don Valley Stadium after a dispute with the landlords at their Millmoor ground in Rotherham.

The points deduction meant that the Millers had a relegation fight on their hands but an impressive start to the season saw them move clear of Bournemouth and Luton who were also handed points deductions.

Without the 17-point penalty Rotherham would currently be 11th, just five points outside the play-offs.

Ruben Reid has been the man scoring the goals for the South Yorkshire side as he has notched eight league goals. The pacy wideman is a 7/1 shot to score the first goal of the match and 2/1 to score anytime.

Available at the same prices as Reid is Jamie Clarke. The young striker is on-loan from Blackburn after earlier on this season having a loan spell at Accrington Stanley. Clarke started the last league match against Gillingham and was first on the scoresheet and looks good value at 7/1 to repeat the trick.

For the home side Chris Zebroski will be missing through suspension as he serves the second of his three-match ban following his boot-in-the-face of an opponent against Bradford.

Therefore top-scorer Matt Harrold will probably be partnered by Jon-Paul Pittman. Harrold has 12 league goals to his name and can be backed at 5/1 to score first, 5/4 anytime.

Pittman recently joined Wycombe from Crawley where he scored 10 goals in 25 appearances this term. So far for the Blues he has played two matches, scoring one goal, the winner last time out against Dagenham & Redbridge. He is 6/1 to score first and 7/4 to score within the 90 minutes against Rotherham.

Whatever happens in the match at Adams Park it promises to be a great advert for League 2. We will have a wide range of in-running betting available throughout the 90 minutes via our betlive service.
