Champions League last 16 draw
The big-wigs of the sixteen best football teams in Europe have gathered in a room in Nyon to watch a load of balls come out of a pot, attempting to remain poker-faced at the announcement of their opponents in the knock-out stages of the Champions League.
The delegation representing Olympique Lyonnaise looked like a five-time Oscar nominee who had just been beaten again by a teenaged debutant when Barcelona followed them out of the draw.
Claudio Ranieri will return to Stamford Bridge as manager of Juventus. He probably won't come away with an explanation as to why he was sacked by Chelsea four years ago but he would love to prove a point to his former employers.
With fourteen Champions League titles between them you'd be surprised to hear that this will only be the second time that Real Madrid and Liverpool have met. This will be a tremendous clash between two true giants of European football.
And it's Alex Ferguson versus José Mourinho as the last two teams drawn turned out to be Inter Milan welcoming the current European Champions Manchester United to the San Siro in the first leg.
The first named team is at home for the first leg of these fixtures which will be played on the 24/25 February 2009 with the return leg on 10/11 March.
