Maccabi Haifa v Bayern Munich

  • Bayern Munich recorded the highest goals scored per game average last season in the Champions League - 2.5.

Chelsea v Porto

  • Porto have been defeated in their two trips to Stamford Bridge in the Champions League, conceding five goals in the process.

Atletico Madrid v APOEL

  • Barça's last three away Champions league games have ended in draws.
  • The Blaugrana have won four of their last five meetings with Italian clubs in the Champions League.
  • Lionel Messi was the top scorer in last season's Champions League with nine goals.

Dynamo Kiev v Rubin Kazan

  • Kiev have won only two of their last 19 Champions League games.
  • However, Kiev have only failed to score once in their last 21 home Champions League games.
  • Rubin Kazan's first taste of European football was in 2004 when they were knocked out in the 2nd qualifying round of the Uefa Cup by Rapid Vienna.
  • Dynamo Kiev have faced Russian opposition four times in the Champions League, winning their two home games and losing their two away games.

GROUP G

Vfb Stuttgart v Rangers

  • Only one of Stuttgart's 17 Champions League games has ended in a draw.
  • Stuttgart and Rangers met in the group stages two years ago - both encounters ended in home wins.
  • Vfb have lost seven of their last nine Champions League games, conceding 15 goals in their last six games.
  • Rangers have won only three of their last 25 Champions League away games.
  • The Glasgow club has never kept a clean sheet against German opposition in the Champions League.

Sevilla v Unirea Urziceni

  • Sevilla have only failed to score once in the Champions League, in their first ever game in the competition (0-3 against Arsenal).
  • They have scored 19 goals in their eight fixtures in this competition.
  • Spanish clubs have met Romanian opposition six times in the Champions League: Spain have come out on top five times while the other game ended in a draw.
  • Unirea only conceded 20 goals in 34 matches last season in the Romanian league.

GROUP H

Olympiakos v AZ Alkmaar

  • Olympiakos are unbeaten in their last five Champions League games at home, keeping a clean sheet in their last three.
  • AZ have played Greek opposition three times in the past in European competitions, coming out victorious each time.
  • Olympiakos' Luciano Galetti was the joint-top scorer in the Greek league last season (14 goals) while AZ's Mounir El Hamdaoui was top scorer of the Eredivisie (23 goals).
  • There has never been a draw in 14 encounters between Greek and Dutch sides in the Champions League.

Standard Liège v Arsenal

  • Arsenal played Standard Liège in the 2nd round of the 1993/94 Cup Winners Cup, winning 10-0 on aggregate, including a 7-0 win in Belgium, their joint-biggest victory in European football.
  • Arsenal have lost three of their last four away games in the Champions League and have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last seven away from home.
  • Standard Liège kept clean sheets in 50% of their games in the Belgium league last season (17 out of 34).
  • Andreï Arshavin scored his last brace in European football against Standard Liège back in September 2007 (Uefa Cup 1st rd). He was wearing Zenit St Petersburg's colours at the time.
