CSKA Moscow - Real Madrid

  • Real Madrid topped Group D with 18 points and a +17 goal difference, the best Champions League Group Stage performance in history.
  • Real Madrid have qualified to the Champions League knockout stage for the 15th consecutive season, currently the longest run.
  • CSKA have lost three of their last four European matches on home soil.
  • The Russian club have never lost a European match against Spanish opposition, winning three and drawing two.
  • Real Madrid have lost just one of their last 19 Champions League games and won all six so far this season.
  • Madrid have kept five clean sheets in their six Champions League matches this season (more than any other team) and in all three away games.

Napoli - Chelsea

  • Chelsea's only win in 10 European away matches on Italian soil came against Lazio in November 2003 (4-0).
  • The Blues have won just three of their six Champions League matches this season despite having taken the lead in all six games.
  • Chelsea fired in the most shots on target in the 2011/12 Champions League Group Stage (54).
  • Napoli had the best conversion rate in the Group Stage, scoring with 22% of their shots.
  • All four of the goals Chelsea have conceded this season in the Champions League have come in the second half.

Marseille -Internazionale

  • Inter and Marseille met in the 2003/04 UEFA Cup quarter-final, with the French team winning both legs 1-0.
  • Marseille have never scored more than once in their 14 encounters against Italian opposition in Europe (excluding Intertoto Cup).

Basel - Bayern Munich

  • Basel conceded more goals than any other the other teams who qualified for the Last 16 (10).
