Champions League Opta Facts - 21-22 October

CSKA Moscow v Manchester City

 

  • These two sides have met only twice so far - that was last season in the group stage of the Champions League with the Citizens winning both games.
  • CSKA have faced English opposition 11 times so far in Europe, winning only twice (D3 L6).
  • The Russians are on a streak of six consecutive losses in European competition but they have failed to score only once in this run (vs Bayern).
  • Man City are winless in their last four games in Europe (D3 L1): their last win coming against Bayern Munich in December 2013.
  • The Citizens have conceded goals in each of their last nine matches in Europe, shipping 16 (an average of 1.8 goals per game).
  • CSKA Moscow were the last Russian team to beat an English side in the Champions League (Arsenal in October 2006).
  • Five of the six goals conceded by CSKA Moscow in this Champions League campaign have come in the first 31 minutes of play.

  • Chelsea haven't scored more than once in each of their last four Champions League games.
  • However, they scored in each of their last 20 European games at Stamford Bridge, keeping a clean sheet eight times.
  • Maribor are unbeaten after the first two games of this Champions League campaign - this is the first time they avoided defeat in consecutive games in this competition.
