UEFA Champions League - Semi Final (Second Leg)

Bayern Munich v Real Madrid

  • Real Madrid and Bayern Munich have won 14 European Cup/Champions League titles between the two of them (9 and 5 respectively).
  • This will be the 16th Champions League meeting between Bayern Munich and Real Madrid, overtaking Barcelona v AC Milan (15 games) as the most frequently played CL fixture.
  • Bayern Munich have beaten Real Madrid eight times (out of 15 games), more than any other side in the Champions League.
  • Real Madrid have reached the semi-finals of the Champions League for the fourth consecutive season. However, they haven't reached the final since 2002.
  • Real Madrid have won 10 of their last 12 Champions League games (D1 L1). Their only defeat this season came in their last away game at Dortmund (0-2).
  • Bayern Munich have reached the semi-finals of the Champions League for the fourth time in the last five seasons. They are the defending champions after last season's win against Borussia Dortmund.

Chelsea v Atletico Madrid

  • Chelsea are unbeaten in their last 16 clashes with Spanish sides in the Champions League (W6 D10), with their last defeat coming against Barcelona at Stamford Bridge in February 2006.
  • Atletico Madrid and Chelsea have met four times previously, three times in the Champions League and once in the European Super Cup; both teams have won once along with two draws.
  • Chelsea are unbeaten against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League (W1 D2); having met in the 2009/10 Group Stages before their 0-0 draw in the first leg of this tie.
  • Atletico have travelled to England nine times previously in European competition (excluding qualifiers); winning only once (at Leicester City in September 1997, D4 L4).
