Defoe has sights set on century
Our friends at Opta bring you another fascinating Premier League stat and William Hill provides you with another unique betting opportunity!
Jermain Defoe has been in impressive form this season netting 24 goals in all competitions for Tottenham Hotspur.
Of these goals, 18 have come in the Premier League, meaning he is just three shy of a century of goals in the top flight in his career at all clubs.
64 of these goals have come in two spells at Spurs whilst he notched up 18 at West Ham and 15 at Portsmouth. With four games left this season Opta take a look at when he might reach the landmark of 100 Premier League goals.
First up for Spurs is a tough away trip to Manchester United, somewhere the north London side have never won in the Premier League era, losing 13 of 17 encounters.
Defoe netted three goals in his first three games against the Red Devils (all for West Ham) but then went on a nine game goalless streak until finding the back of the net last time out at White Hart Lane in September.
Following that tough game is a home meeting with Bolton, against who Defoe has netted just once in 13 league clashes.
If the England hopeful has not hit the century by then he will have an away game at Manchester City and then a trip to Turf Moor to face Burnley in order to finish off the job.
Against City, Defoe has scored five goals in nine Premier League games for Tottenham while the striker has fired in two goals in five appearances in all competitions (for all clubs) against the Clarets.
Three of Spurs' remaining for games in the league are away from home, but don't let that put you off. Defoe has netted eight goals on the road this season, more than he managed in the previous three seasons combined.
