Don't pool your money on the Reds
The Premier League draw specialists Liverpool, take on Newcastle at Anfield on Friday evening. They will be without their talisman striker Suarez. The controversial but skilful player has a one-match ban after admitting making an offensive gesture to Fulham fans earlier this month.
The Uruguay player already has an eight-game ban hanging over his head after being found guilty of making racist comments to Man Utd's Evra. Liverpool are 8/15 to win at home, the draw is 14/5 and the away victory is 11/2.
Liverpool may have home advantage but you get some strange results over the festive period and Newcastle have been one of the surprise packages in the league. Newcastle or the draw looks a fair punt at 11/8 and the Toon draw no bet is 10/3.
Newcastle have lost just two of their last ten Premier League away games. Liverpool may be unbeaten in their last nine league games at Anfield, but they have drawn five of the last six.
However, Liverpool may start Gerrard and they are a far better side with their captain in the eleven. Everyone knows he has an eye for goals and the spectacular, he is 7/1 to open the scoring.
Also, he has scored six goals in his last eight Premier League games against Newcastle.
Carroll could make his second consecutive start for Liverpool. He has only scored three goals in nineteen appearances this season and he is not the player he was at the Toon. He is 9/1 to score the first goal and 6/5 anytime. He is going through a transition period at his new club and he is an England international.
The main danger at Newcastle, has to be Demba Ba. The Senegal international did not quite get going at Upton Park but he has been sensational on Tyneside and they will miss him over the African Nations.
The top goalscorer is 8/1 to open the scoring and he looks a good punt at 11/4 to find the net anytime. He has scored twenty-one goals in just twenty-five starts and he has a genuine chance of winning the golden boot at 10/1.
The winning side has scored at least three goals in the last six Premier League games between Liverpool and Newcastle. The Reds have won five of those six games. Both teams are weak at the back and you can punt on over 2.5 goals at 10/11 and over 3.5 at 12/5.
If you fancy both teams to score, you can take advantage of even money. Liverpool have an ageing back line and they will not sit back, Newcastle should have plenty of chances on the break and it can be a high scoring affair.
The Match Winner is for Andy Carroll to score a header against his former club, we have enhanced the price from 3/1 to 4/1. He is strong in the air and he will be desperate to take his chances at goal with Luis Suarez suspended.
