Euro 2012: Group C
Euro 2012 - Group C
Group C sees two of international football's heavyweights come together in Spain and Italy along with Croatia and the Republic of Ireland who are in only their second Euro Championships.
This maybe a group for the underdogs as Spain (4/7), despite being world class, is an aging team that may lack some of their cutting edge with David Villa out injured and Fernando Torres form still questionable. The Italian's (11/4) will again have to put distractions of domestic match fixing aside in order to concentrate, this latest scandal has already seen left back Domenico Criscito leave the squad and leaves a cloud hanging over the rest. This could leave the door open for one or maybe even both of Croatia (7/1) who England have found recently can be a more than tricky opponent and the Irish (14/1) who with a bit of the luck of the, well Irish, can put themselves in a position to reach the later stages.
We have a wide range of markets on all Euro 2012 and group C is no exception. The "Big 2" are obviously strong fancies to qualify for the knockout stage with Spain 1/9 (5/1 not to) and Italy 8/13 (6/5 not to) but there is definitely the potential for surprises in this group and so Croatia 13/8 (4/9 not to) and Ireland 7/2 (1/6 not to) represent much better value and with the Irish most likely being one of the better supported teams they are a decent shout to be a surprise package and maintain their 100% record of getting out of their groups in major tournaments.
If you fancy the Spanish to dominate all before them in this group then trying to find some value in them can prove tricky but with our range of cast markets you'll be able to get yourself a decent priced bet. Spain to win the group with Italy in second is what's seen to be the most likely scenario is a 7/4 shout while the pair to be 1st and 2nd in any order and both progress is 5/6 and much better value than on Spain to qualify. While personally I fancy a huge upset in this group and Italy to top the group followed by the Republic of Ireland in second is a massive 33/1! While you can take it a step further and predict the finishing order of the entire group with our tricast market.
We all love seeing goals at major tournaments so why not increase the fun with a few group C goals bets? We have top scoring match/team, lowest scoring match/team along with most/least goals conceded and total goals. Croatia v Spain catches the eye as the highest scoring game at 7/2 while Italy look a banker to be the team that concedes the least at 9/4 as they are always dependable at the back.
Each team gets its own special treatment too! We have exact points earned by each team along with grouped points and the number of goals scored and conceded by the group teams. So If you fancy the Spanish to win all 3 of their fixtures you can back them to score 9 points at 5/2 while for them to concede over 3 goals in their 3 fixtures is a tempting 4/1. The Irish aren't fancied being 8/11 to score 2 or less points but they are certainly capable of getting wins on their day and so 5-6 points at 15/2 might have you reaching for some 4 leafed clovers! Italy are always tough to get past and so for them to get 7 points (2 wins and a draw) seems good value at 6/1 along with them to concede 2-3 goals at 5/4 looks to be a banker. Finally the Croatians - They are 9/1 to score nil points and that is certainly plausible while for them to score under 3 will tempt a few at 11/10.
