Europa League Opta Facts - semi-finals 2nd legs

Juventus v Benfica

  • Benfica have won four of their five previous European encounters with Juventus, though they did lose on their last trip to Turin to face them.
  • The Old Lady were trailing 2-1 in their last knockout tie against Benfica after the first leg in Lisbon, but won 3-0 in Turin to progress to the UEFA Cup semi-final in 1993.
  • The Eagles have lost eight of their last nine visits to Italy in European competition (W1).
  • Juventus have won four of their five home games against Portuguese sides in Europe. The only side to beat them in that time are Benfica (1-0 in the second leg of the European Cup semi-final in 1968).
  • The Bianconeri progressed the last time they lost the first leg of a European semi-final (v Real Madrid in 02/03 Champions League).
  • Benfica have been eliminated in their last two European semi-finals after winning the first leg (Cup Winners Cup 1994 v Parma, Europa League 2010/11 v Braga). Both first legs ended 2-1 to the Eagles.
  • Juve are unbeaten at home in European competition this season, winning three and drawing three.
  • Benfica have won four consecutive European games away in a row, their best ever run across all competitions.
  • Carlos Tevez has found the net five times in his last seven games.
  • Rodrigo Lima has scored every 47 minutes in the Europa League this season, striking four times for the Eagles so far.

Valencia v Sevilla

  • Valencia have won only two of their last nine games in La Liga against Sevilla (D1 L6).
  • Sevilla have been victorious only twice in their last six league trips to the Mestalla (L4).
  • Valencia haven't lost at home in Europe since losing to Swansea in the opening Europa League game this season (W3 D2). They've also gone 276 minutes without conceding at home in Europe.
  • Sevilla have been defeated just once in their last seven away games in Europe, albeit last time out against Porto (W4 D2).
  • Los Che have lost only two of their last 14 knockout games contested at home, though this does include their last semi-final game at the Mestalla against Atletico in 2012 (W7 D5).
  • That defeat is the only time Valencia have been beaten at home by a Spanish side in Europe (W4 D1).
  • Los Rojiblancos have lost three of their four away games against fellow Spanish sides in Europe, the exception being the 2-0 win over Real Betis this season.
  • Kevin Gameiro has scored seven times in his last six games for Sevilla.
  • Paco Alcacer has netted seven times in 11 Europa League appearances. Only Jonatan Soriano has scored more than him in this year's competition.
  • Valencia have fired 90 shots off target in the Europa League so far this season, more than any other side.
