Five star Spireites moving up

Chesterfield destroyed Aldershot at Saltergate on Wednesday night with a five star performance.

Newly promoted Aldershot were put to the sword by an attacking display by Chesterfield including a hat-trick by Jamie Ward.

Lee Richardson's side can be backed at 50/1 for the title and with some of the players at Richardson's disposal they should improve on their current 14th position.

Wycombe remain at the top of the table after their draw away at Barnet. The Chairboys remain as 11/2 shots in the betting.

Andy Scott's Brentford (8/1) are now second, after a 3-1 home victory over lowly Morecambe, overtaking Bury (11/1) who lost at home to Rotherham.

Favourites Shrewsbury lost away to John Coleman's Accrington Stanley and consequently were lengthened to 11/4 from 9/4.

On Monday night Darlington hosted Bradford (6/1) in front of the live Sky cameras. Three late goals in the match saw the home side emerge as 2-1 victors and Darlo's odds were cut from 9/1 to 7/1.

Last year's Blue Square Premier play-off winners Exeter and John Still's Dagenham and Redbridge fill the other two slots in the top seven.

Exeter are a team in form as they have now gone six matches unbeaten, their most recent a 3-1 success away at Port Vale, the Grecians can now be backed at 20/1.

On the other hand the Daggers have lost their last two and now look like slipping out of the promotion picture. As a result their odds have drifted to 25/1, the biggest they have been since August.
