Germany v Greece preview

Germany's quarter final against Greece is being billed as the battle between two countries who are at the heart of the Eurozone crisis.

The German chancellor Merkel has upset many Greek people by claiming Athens should push tough austerity measures if the Greeks are going to stay in the Euro with Germany's help.

The Greeks may be going through a hard time but they have had a good run in the competition.  They are 9/1 to beat the Germans in ninety minutes, the draw is 7/2 and Germany are 4/11 to win.  It would be one of the biggest upsets in the history of the competition if Greece progress.

Germany have a potential semi-final clash with England and they beat them 4-1 in the last sixteen in South Africa two years ago. They took nine points in Group B and they are a class side.

If you think it will be a goalfest and it will be very one sided, you can back Germany -1 goals at 19/20. Over 2.5 goals looks a big price at 10/11, Germany's strength is their attacking play and Greece may be lost without their suspended leader Karagounis.

The Greeks best chance of finding the back of the net is attacking on the break, both teams to score is 11/8.Greece do not possess the talent up-front of the Germans and they will be relying upon Samaras to hold the ball and shoot from distance.

The Celtic player is 11/2 to score anytime and 14/1 to open the scoring. Germany 's Mario Gomez has been the most successful striker in the Bundesliga in recent years. He is in a rich vein of form and he has scored sixty-four goals in ninety-four league games for Bayern.  He is 3/1 to be awarded Man of the Match and the same price to open the scoring.

We continue to offer the Best Prices on the Best Teams! Can the creative star Mesut Ozil find the back of the net and help his team to a ninety minutes victory against Greece at 4/1? Our special is enhanced from 12/5! The 23-year-old impressed when playing in the Group of Death and the Real Madrid star is an important player for Germany.

Klose scored the last time the two sides faced each other, in a World Cup qualifying match in 2001. It has been rumoured in the German press, that he will be returned to the side and the veteran is 6/1 to open the scoring.

Six Greece players have either played or play in the Bundesliga, it will not be an aggressive match and total Germany cards under 2 looks a bet at 17/20. They will not want any players receiving reds for a ridiculous reason with a potential semi-final against their arch-rivals England in the semi-finals.
