Goals guaranteed at Goodison - Betting Preview
Everton (4/6) will look to keep their unbeaten start to the season going as they take on Newcastle (5/1, draw 11/4) at Goodison Park.
After losing David Moyes during the summer, Toffees fans wouldn't have thought they'd be sat above their former manager at this stage in the season, but Roberto Martinez seems to have fitted in nicely on Merseyside and the top six looks a reachable target.
The Spaniard's trademark at Wigan was neat and tidy passing, and with the likes of Kevin Mirallas (15/2 FGS) and Ross Barkley (12/1) playing balls through to the front man it looks like it could become his trait at Everton too.
Just who that frontman will be is open to discussion, Nikica Jelavic (6/1) has started every game this season but is yet to score whereas Romelu Lukaku (9/2) came on at half-time last week to make his debut and notched the winner, common sense would say the Belgian should keep hold of the shirt in the Monday night game.
We're certainly hoping he'll start as we've got TWO sensational offers on the on-loan star.
Our Headline Offer is for Lukaku to score and Everton to win, which we've enhanced from 13/10 to 2/1, our Opta stats based offer is for the giant striker to score any time at Evens, which would make it five goals in his last five PL appearances.
For their opponents we're pricing a Loic Remy (9/1) goal in a Newcastle win at 9/1 from 6/1.
Remy has looked good so far in his blossoming Newcastle career, setting up a goal in a win over Fulham and scoring twice against Hull last week, his strikes against the Tigers were of course in vain though.
A repeat performance of the Frenchman scoring but Everton winning could be worth a shout at 5/1.
The Toffees certainly look more likely at this moment in time; they've had much more luck on the injury front compared to their opponents and haven't had to change personnel too much, perfect for any new manager coming in.
With both teams involved in high-scoring matches last week, some of the goals markets we offer will surely have appeal - over 2.5 goals looks solid at 8/11 and considering both teams have scored in the last five fixtures between the sides, that is worth a punt at 4/5.
In the those five matches 17 goals were scored, and in five of the last six at Goodison there have been at least three goals - exactly 3 goals is 11/4, over 3 is 2/1.
Yoan Gouffran (16/1) has scored two goals in three starts this season, including a fantastic finish against Leeds in the Capital One Cup during the week, he's tempting at 11/2 to pounce at any time of the match.
With goals looking very likely the odds on Everton winning and both teams to score at 14/5 is really juicy, that happening in a draw is 16/5.
