Hills pay out on Evra AND Vidic; bookies battered by RVP & co

Liverpool were unfortunate to lose to Manchester United as the Reds of Merseyside are 11/8 to finish above their Blue rivals in the Premier League (Everton are 8/15 to finish above Liverpool).

With Brendan Rodgers seemingly at Liverpool for the long haul William Hill make him 5/6 to outlast Ferguson at Manchester United (5/6 that he does not).

After Nemanja Vidic deflected Patrice Evra's goalbound header for United's second, William Hill have paid out on both players scoring. Both were well backed at 8/1 to score before the game.

The Manchester United victory was bad news for the bookies as over a quarter of all football bets placed on Sunday were for a United victory at 5/6 while Robin van Persie was well backed to open the scoring.

"The United victory with the van Persie first goal was an absolute nightmare," said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly. "Not only were the individual markets well backed, but we offered the enhanced wincast of 7/4 for RVP to score and United to win."

Should Manchester City win in Sunday afternoon's late kick off, William Hill could be staring down the barrel of a seven figure loss given that the Priority Price of 6/1 for the Manchester double (5,000 bets) was snapped up in 13 minutes.

With rumours suggesting that Pep Guardiola could be brought in to replace Roberto Mancini at Manchester City, William Hill have cut the odds of City being his next club from 12/1 to 3/1 ahead of Chelsea at 6/1 but behind front runners, Bayern Munich. The Bundesliga side are odds on to secure the former Barca boss at 4/6.

Pep Guardiola next club: 4/6 Bayern Munich; 3/1 Manchester City; 6/1 Chelsea; 14/1 Arsenal; 14/1 Barcelona; 14/1 Manchester United; 33/1 AC Milan; 50/1 PSG
