Is It All Rover For Kenny At Liverpool?

Blackburn Rovers v Liverpool

English Premier League

Tuesday 20:00 - live on Sky Sports 1

Match betting: Blackburn 13/5 Draw 11/5 Liverpool 11/10

Having lost six of their last seven Premier League away games including the last four in a row Kenny Dalglish will be desperate for his side to pick up a much needed victory at Ewood Park on Tuesday Night. Fans are becoming less concerned with Liverpool's cup double ambitions as worries mount over their league form, more than ever now that they have slipped below Merseyside rivals Everton in the table.

Defeat at Blackburn could potentially leave the Reds occupying 11th position in the Premier League and would be dire preparation for their FA Cup semi-final date with Everton at Wembley this Saturday. Luckily for Dalglish they are coming up against a side who are struggling to find any form themselves. Steve Kean's men had moved away from the relegation zone after back-to-back wins over Wolves and Sunderland but have fallen away with losses against Bolton, Manchester United and the Baggies and currently find themselves sitting in 18th spot.

Despite recent result the manager has remained positive and will be encourage by the fact that he has a fully fit squad to select from. Although not at his best this season 14 goals from 24 starts still represents a healthy return from the Nigerian striker and he will undoubtedly cause problems for a Liverpool defence that has conceded 21 goals in 16 away fixtures this season. Yakubu is a 7/1 shot for the first goal at Ewood Park and looks decent value at 2/1 about anytime goalscorer.

Penalty decisions have hit the headlines at this late stage of the season and they have been going the way of the big clubs. Controversy reigned at Old Trafford on the weekend when Man United were awarded a penalty despite Ashley Young being in an offside position. The decision resulted in a sending off for Shaun Derry and left QPR no chance of getting anything from the game. For our Match Winner offer we have enhanced the price of Liverpool to be awarded a penalty from 4/1 to 11/2 at Ewood Park, and Steve Kean will be the first to complain if this one comes in!

Blackburn fans will be hoping that Liverpool do turn up in Lancashire with half an eye on Saturday's FA Cup game and that Kenny decides to rest some of his bigger stars.  Liverpool will be without first-choice goalkeeper Jose Reina whilst midfielders Charlie Adam and Lucas will also miss out. The 13/5 for a Rovers win, although value, could prove fairly priced given Blackburn's form and Both Teams To Score at 13/20 is not big enough for a serious punt. In my opinion the 4/5 about over 2.5 goals in this one is where to go. Liverpool's defence has struggled recently and without Pepe Reina are likely to be tested by Yakubu and co. whilst they themselves will have enough fire power up front to put a couple or more past Paul Robinson. And if you agree with the above then why not take advantage of the 11/10 for the Liverpool win, they have to start winning soon don't they?
