Island pride at stake - Monday night La Liga

It's not on British TV and I was not sure how much interest there would be in this game, but I decided to cover every La Liga match so find below a mixture of facts, opinion and varied betting opportunities.

History tells us that Mallorca (9/5) have the edge over their Islander rivals with four wins and three draws in their last seven Primera division meetings. It has however been nearly eight years since we last saw this fixture so it's debatable how much you should read into that.

In their last meeting they played out a goalless draw, if you fancy a repeat 0-0 is priced at 10/1.

Tenerife (6/4) were extremely unlucky to draw with Valencia a few weeks ago and since then I have given them a little more respect and proceeded with caution when assessing their matches.

However, that mindset has since proved futile as they have lost both of their games after impressing against Los Che.

They do however (I'm keen on that word but then it fits so easily in counter arguments) face a Mallorca team that has only won once on the road in the league this season, with six defeats and four draws completing the Barralets away record.

Mallorca striker Artiz Aduriz (11/2 first goal or 6/4 anytime) recently said that team have targeted this fixture as a great opportunity to start to reverse their away fortunes, so maybe we will see a little more determination and possibly different tactics tonight.

Maybe we will see Tenerife revert to winning ways at home (they have a record of 4 wins, 4 defeats and 3 draws), but as it's a derby of sorts it could well end up being a draw (11/5).

It could also be a low scoring game under 2.5 goals is 4/5, with the riskier but more rewarding under 2 goals priced at 5/2.

Those who like double results may see value in draw/draw (9/2) or given that Mallorca scored a late winner in their last game, draw/Mallorca (11/2).

In all honesty I'm not sure of the outcome in this one, but I've had a very profitable weekend and will have a small punt on a draw.
