Just 0.96% Of All Punters Back Wigan...RVP Fav For Top Scorer
After their victory in the Community Shield, William Hill make Manchester United 5/2 third favourites to retain the Premier League crown next season behind Manchester City and Chelsea, both of whom are 9/4 to do so.
Manchester United were incredibly well backed to win in the 90 minutes with just 0.96% of all football punters at William Hill backing Wigan for the victory.
"We fully expected Manchester United to win and so did our punters," said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly. "It looks like David Moyes is picking up where his predecessor left off and we could be in for a bit of a bashing over the years under the new United manager."
It took just six minutes for Robin van Persie to open his account for the season and William Hill offer 7/2 that he is the Premier League's top scorer this season ahead of 8/1 Sergio Aguero.
Ryan Giggs started the match for Manchester United and he is 10/3 to still be playing for the Red Devils next season.
