Kaka and co to add to Adams' woe

Tony Adams has a host of injury worries that are not going to help Portsmouth's cause as the might of AC Milan come to visit Fratton Park.

Portsmouth were battered 3-0 by Braga in their opening UEFA Cup game and will do well to overcome odds of 21/10.

Pompey are on the back of a run of one win in eight. In comparison with Milan who are unbeaten since the third week of the season in all competitions, but they can be backed at 13/10 to add to Adams' woeful start, with the draw at 23/10.

While a win is not essential for Milan as they won their first two matches, Carlos Ancelotti has brought his strongest squad over to England making his intentions that Milan are out to win this game all the more clear.

The likes of Ronaldinho may well be rested but one player who is most likely to start is the talismanic Kaka.

Kaka will form part of a front three which will cause havoc for the Portsmouth defence and the Brazilian can be backed at 11/2 to set the ball rolling by scoring first.

Portsmouth's main goal threat Jermain Defoe has been ruled out along with the misfiring John Utaka, leaving Peter Crouch virtually on his own up front with possible support from the rarely seen Nwankwo Kanu and this pairing will not cause a solid Milan back line too much worry. Crouch is 15/2 to defy the odds and score first while Kanu is 10/1.

Alexandre Pato doesn't always get a game in Serie A but has been prolific when he has and will get a chance tonight to impress. The 11/2 on offer about him scoring first looks a great price as he will be looking for a goal every chance he gets in a bid to hold down a regular place in the first team.

Tony Adams looks like he is facing an uphill struggle here with Lassana Diarra, John Utaka and Sol Campbell joining Defoe on the sidelines and Adams may have to risk the unfit Niko Kranjcar just to make up numbers.

Milan are far superior going forward and this will be the main difference with Portsmouth looking blunt in attack.

Milan should win in a relatively low scoring affair and in turn add to Adams' rocky start giving Pompey a must win game away to Wolfsburg in order to qualify out of the groups.

Alexandre Pato to score first - 11/2
AC Milan to win 2-0 - 8/1
