La Liga Midweek Preview

It is safe to say that we have a title race on our hands once again in La Liga.

A draw at home for Real Madrid thanks to an inspired Guaita performance in goal for Valencia and another Barcelona victory means the gap that Mourinho and his team have built up is getting smaller by the week.

Barcelona are at home to Getafe this week and will be more than confident of getting the three points and hoping that Atletico do them a favour against Real on Wednesday.

Barcelona are 1/16 and should walk this game against Getafe on recent form but the return fixture did give a 1-0 result to Getafe. It is 50/1 that the same score line happens at the Nou Camp this week. The William Hill Match Winner is for the game to have over 3.5 goals and both teams to score enhanced from 9/5 to 2/1. As Barcelona only have three fit defenders it wouldn't be a surprise if they did concede yet score more than their opponents.

The biggest game is at the Vicente Calderon on Wednesday night where Diego Simeone's  Atletico Madrid host their cross city rivals in Real Madrid. Atletico are an interesting 4/1 to take the spoils and crumble Real's title hopes in the process. Real are 8/13. They were unlucky to not beat Valencia on Sunday and it was just one of those games where Valencia's goalkeeper has a brilliant game. Real to win should be considered, as they have to keep an advantage over Barcelona going into the Classico next Saturday. The William Hill Match Winner is for Ronaldo to score a penalty and Real to win at 9/2 which is a fantastic bet.

The in-form Malaga travel to Villarreal on Thursday and are another team that are good value away from home. The home side have not been in good form this season but Malaga, in recent weeks, have. The 9/5 for them to take another giant leap towards Champions League qualification is well worth backing.

Valencia host Rayo and if they play half as well as they did against Real Madrid on Sunday then the 1/ 2 should be snapped up as Roberto Soldado should return to the starting line up. Rayo won 4-0 at the weekend but they aren't as good away as they are at home.

Levante beat Atletico 2-0 on Sunday and travel to Sporting on Wednesday. They may well be considered a good bet but the price of a draw looks value at 21/10.

One Europe chasing team away from home that could be worth backing is Athletic Bilbao. They are a stand-out 7/5 away at Granada and would do their Champions League chances no harm with victory.

Also this weekend, Osasuna host Espanyol in what should be a tight match along with Real Sociedad hosting Betis. Another couple of draws may well be considered there.

Racing Santander host Mallorca and Sevilla are at home against a doomed Zaragoza side on Thursday.
