Atletico Madrid v Almeria

  • Atletico have only won two of their last eight meetings with Almeria in the top-flight (D5 L1), both in the Vicente Calderon.
  • The side from Almeria have drawn five different games against the Red-and-Whites in La Liga, more than against any other side in their top-flight history.
  • Atleti have won their opening three league games this season; they have not won their first four since the historic double winning campaign of 1995/96.
  • Almeria have scored exactly two goals in each of their three games this season but have yet to pick up a victory (D2 L1).
  • Diego Simeone's side have the best shot conversion rate in La Liga this term (30%).
  • Raul Garcia is the only player in Atletico's squad that has scored a top-flight goal against Almeria whilst wearing the Atleti shirt.
  • Almeria have lost a league-high seven points from games in which they have scored the first goal this term.
  • David Villa has hit the post the same number of times that he has hit the target in La Liga this term (three).

Levante v Real Sociedad

  • Levante have won all five previous top-flight home games against Real Sociedad, scoring exactly twice in four of these victories.
  • Las Granotas have the chance to win two successive league games for the first time since December 2012.
  • Only against Hercules (15) and Cadiz (12) have Real Sociedad played more away games in their top-flight career without a victory than they have against Levante (five).
  • The Basque side have not lost successive league games since October 2012.
  • Despite conceding a league-high eight goals this season, Keylor Navas has also saved a league-high four big chances.
  • Levante have not won a home league game since March (D3 L3).
  • Levante are one of just three teams yet to score a home league goal this season.
  • Real Sociedad, meanwhile, have conceded just two shots on target in away games this season; a joint-low with Osasuna.
  • Joaquin Caparros's side have the lowest possession figure in La Liga this season (29%); something JIM's side had last term (35%).

Barcelona v Sevilla

  • Sevilla have lost more games against Barcelona than any other side in their La Liga history (73).
  • Sevilla have not beaten Barcelona in the league since March 2007 (D3 L9), when Dani Alves scored the winning goal.
  • Sevilla have not won in the Nou Camp since 2002/03 (D2 L7), incidentally the last season in which they started with two draws and a defeat from their opening three games.
  • The Catalans have won all three league games this term, whilst the Andalusians are yet to record a victory (D2 L1).
  • Barca have won 16 consecutive home league games; their best run since 1974 (21).
  • On the other hand, Sevilla are without a win in 17 away league games (D6 L11); their last victory came last September when Michel was in charge (2-0 at Deportivo).
  • Neymar has yet to net his first league goal for Barcelona; his compatriot Ronaldinho scored his first La Liga goal against Sevilla at the Camp Nou.
  • Javi Varas was the most recent goalkeeper to save a Lionel Messi penalty in La Liga.
  • Barcelona have scored a league-high 10 first-half goals this term, but have only scored one after the break.
  • Barcelona have the highest possession rating in La Liga this season (71.7%), while Sevilla come third in this metric (61.4%).

  • Marcelino has lost all four of his previous home league meetings with Real Madrid as a manager (five goals scored, 14 against).
  • Real Madrid have won more times at El Madrigal than any other away side in La Liga history (seven).
  • Villarreal could become the first team for the Communidad Valenciana to win their opening four top-flight games since Valencia in 1951/52.
  • If Real Madrid win this game, Carlo Ancelotti's side will have bettered their points total after four games of any campaign under José Mourinho.
  • Cani (three) has scored more goals against Real Madrid than any other Villarreal player in the club's top-flight history.
  • Cristiano Ronaldo has scored in every league game he has played at El Madrigal (four goals in three games).
  • Giovani dos Santos has participated at least one goal in all three of Villarreal's victories this season (two goals, two assists).

Granada v Espanyol

  • Granada have won two and drawn one of their four league meetings with Espanyol since promotion, losing just once.
  • Three of the last four draws between these two sides in Granada have been goalless.
  • Granada are the only Andalusian side to have recorded a victory this season.
  • Javier Aguirre will be hoping to become the first Espanyol player to guide his side through the four opening games of a season without defeat since Jose Antonio Camacho in 1997/98.
  • Granada have only scored in two of their last eight clashes with Espanyol in the top-flight (three goals).
  • Espanyol are without a win in four away league games (D1 L3).
  • Piti, who scored Granada's goal in the draw in Vigo this season, is the only player to have missed a penalty in La Liga this season.
  • Thievy Bifouma has scored two goals in three league games this season; more than in his whole career at Espanyol (one in 21).

Getafe v Osasuna

  • Getafe have shared the spoils with Osasuna in five of their last seven league duels, three of them ending goalless.
  • In fact, against no side have Getafe drawn more often in La Liga than they have against the Reds (seven).
  • Miguel Flano scored an own goal in Osasuna's most recent defeat at the Alfonso Perez in the top-flight, but also scored in the Pamplona side's only victory there.
  • Getafe have only taken one point from three games this season, the same record they had at this stage of Luis Garcia's first season at the helm (2011/12).
  • Together with Betis's Nosa, Orial Riera has attempted a joint-high five headed shots this season but has still to score his first goal.
  • The Blues (5.2%) and the Reds (3.1%) have the two lowest shot conversion rates in La Liga this term.
  • Osasuna have lost their opening three games for only the third time in a top-flight season (56/57, 12/13). They have never lost their opening four.
  • No goalkeeper has made more saves than Miguel Angel Moya in La Liga this season (15).
  • Osasuna have attempted more than double the amount of crosses (127) as Getafe have (61) in La Liga this season.

 

Malaga v Rayo Vallecano

  • Malaga have only lost one of their six previous home meetings with Rayo Vallecano at La Rosaleda (D2) since their reformation.
  • The side from the Costa del Sol have only won one of their last eight league games (D2 L5).
  • No player born in Spain has ever scored for the Blue-and-Whites in the Primera against the side from Vallecas.
  • Since their reformation, Malaga have never endured a worse start to a top-flight season after three games than they have this season (one point).
  • Roberto Trashorras has made the most passes (256), successful passes (218) and passes in the final third (50) this season.
  • Duda, who has been yellow carded more often than any other Malaga player in history (54), has now been sent off six times for the Andalusian side in La Liga - a joint-club-high with Dario Silva.
  • Rayo Vallecano attempted 23 shots last weekend; the most of any club in a single game this term.
  • The Madrid side are the only team in La Liga yet to concede a right-footed goal this season.
  • Pedro Morales, who scored his club's last goal last season and first goal of this term, scored his first ever La Liga goal against Rayo in a game which he also provided two assists in.

Real Betis v Valencia

  • The last five league meetings between Betis (W3) and Valencia (W2) have all been decided by the odd goal.
  • Pepe Mel's side have gone four league games without a win (D2 L2) and against Celta last time out ended a run of 10 games unbeaten on home soil (W5 D5).
  • Los Che have lost six consecutive league games in Seville, though only two of those came at the Villamarín.
  • The last time that Real Betis had scored fewer goals after three game-weeks of a season than they have this term, they were relegated (none in 08/09).
  • Ruben Castro has needed fewer touches to score a goal than any other player in La Liga this term (five).
  • Valencia have conceded a joint-high two headed goals already this term.
  • Eight of the last nine Real Betis goals against Valencia in La Liga have been scored after the half-time interval.
  • The game against Valencia was the only home game in which Real Betis did not see a single player booked last season.
  • Real Betis and Valencia are the only two teams in La Liga who haven't benefited from a goal from a midfielder this season.
  • Nosa has put a league-high five headed shots off target this season.

 

Elche v Valladolid

  • Elche have beaten Valladolid in four of their six home meetings in the top-flight (D1 L1).
  • Elche have found the net each once in all six home duels with Valladolid in La Primera.
  • Valladolid are one of only three teams that Elche beat on home soil in their last season in the top-flight (1-0 in 88/89).
  • If they continue their current run, Fran Escriba's side must score three goals in this game (none in the first, one in the second, two in the third).
  • Valladolid have scored exactly one goal in all three league games this season, only winning the one in which a defender scored (Marc Valiente against Getafe).
  • Richmond Boakye scored an equalising goal after 94 minutes and 10 seconds last week, the latest goal scored in La Liga so far this term.
  • Manucho has the record for the quickest yellow as a substitute this term, getting booked just two minutes and 21 seconds after coming off the bench.
  • Cristian Sapunaru is one of two players (with Sergi Darder) to have been booked in all three appearances this season.
  • Omar Ramos has completed 11 of the 21 dribbles he has attempted this term; the same number that Lionel Messi has completed from his 22 attempts.

 

Athletic Bilbao v Celta Vigo

  • Athletic have only won one of their last four home meetings with Celta in La Liga (D2 L1), though this was the last one they played (1-0 last season).
  • Celta Vigo suffered their heaviest ever top-flight defeat against Athletic at the old San Mames (10-0 in 1942).
  • The Galician side did, however, enjoy their joint-heaviest ever away win in the top-flight at the mythical San Mames (6-1 in 2002).
  • Aritz Aduriz has scored in three of the last four league meetings between these sides, including the goal in Bilbao's home victory last term.
  • Only Almeria (seven) have lost more points from winning positions than Celta Vigo (four) this season.
  • Aritz Aduriz scored the last headed goal at the old San Mames last season, in the Lions' final victory at their old stadium (2-1 v Mallorca).
  • Athletic's last two league goals have been scored by substitutes (Ibai Gomez and Oscar De Marcos).
  • Of all players to have attempted more than 10 tackles, Augusto Fernandez is the only one to maintain a 100% tackle success rate.
  • Ander Herrera has had more shots without hitting the target than any other player in La Liga this season (four).
