La Liga Week Four preview
Jose Mourinho will see his sides mid week fixture away at Racing Santander as a chance to get back into the swing of things after the ugly defeat away at Levante on Sunday evening.
Cristiano Ronaldo and Mesut Ozil both started on the bench at Levante and as Sami Khedira was sent off just before half time Madrid crumbled. Levante walked away with a 1-0 victory and even the huge Ballesteros outpaced Ronaldo in the second half and at that point it just never seemed to be.
Madrid huffed and they puffed but could not break Levante down. They travel to Real Sociedad and three points should be on the cards. The same would have been said at Levante but lightning is unlikely to strike twice. Real Madrid Half Time - Full Time at 8/13 is a good bet with the fire that the Special One will light up under his players.
It couldn't have been any different for Barcelona as they were 8-0 victors on Saturday night although they have a very tough game away at the Mestalla. Valencia have three wins out of three and are sitting pretty. Valencia are a huge 11/2 to record a victory. Barcelona will expect a victory but at 4/9 they seem far too short. They have a striker in superb form in Roberto Soldado and how he would love to do his former club at Madrid a favour by netting. He is 8/1 to score first or 11/4 at anytime. Cesc Fabregas has been on superb form since his move from Arsenal for the Catalans and 5/1 to net first may also appeal.
Another team that have a 100% record in La Liga this season is Real Betis. A stunning victory away in the Basque country at Athletic Bilbao will have the newly promoted Betis full of confidence. They host Zaragoza on Thursday night and at 4/6 should again be taken into consideration. For a home team double, adding Atletico Madrid to Betis could be well worth it. Atletico are 4/9 to beat Sporting Gijon at the Vicente Calderon and after Falcao getting his first hat trick for the club this past weekend you would not go against him netting again. Falcao, Adrian and Diego are looking very easy on the eye and will be a big threat for most sides. Gijon should struggle against this talented trio.
Villarreal are still looking to get their first win of the season and are 3/4 to beat Mallorca at home this week. Mallorca lost to Malaga at home at the weekend and are even worse away. Villarreal need points and confidence quickly and they should quick start their season on Wednesday.
Athletic Bilbao were very poor at home to Betis last weekend and another tough test on Wednesday night away at Malaga. Malaga have found some form and after two straight wins Pellegrini's boys should make no mistake at dismissing Bilbao. Cazorla to get his fourth goal of the season is 2/1.
The rest of the games are Sevilla's trip to Osasuna, Sociedad hosting Granada, the Real Madrid humblers, Levante travelling to Vallecano and Espanyol host Getafe.
